Donald-

It looks like you need to put a blade on that white stuff.

The 1512D (for dog) is looking great! Have you decided yet what is going on it? loader?

Keep the pics coming....Wayne

After a few setbacks I got her done lol. It has a long way to go to make a good tractor. But its a good start.

We now take time out from this story for (flowers), dinner and a movie. (At least I think that's what the red car stands for).

Got to have room for the people to sit and enjoy a little
beerchug.gif
and watch as I wrench lol.

If I do this again I will do a few things different as both plates should have been drilled and tapped for studs.the rest is the way to go I think. The shaft moved around a bit at first and then go smooth as silk. The shaft runs great with no problems. Do you want me to make up a shaft for you 129 when I do another for my 129 loader.
lol
clappy.gif
You told me your shaft was a mess. this is cats a$$ and so smooth

Don:
The 149 is messed up - I'll be working on it in the spring (the round tuit is going where the sun DOES shine for a while...)

Don-
Congrats on a great job. It's been really fun to watch your posts as you worked your way through this tractor.

Well done!

Don,

what Art said!

Very nice work, glad your project turned out so great! Next we'll have to back out the smoke screw a bit, right?

Well guys thanks for all the coments on the 1512 Diesel. and Jim D just where is that smoke screw lol.I just got back from town and installed my new rubber on the tractor. At $111.33 for two tires and tubes delivered I was a happy guy.I have painted the grill flat black and for now that will have to do. I kind of like it that colour lol . Next will be my hydralic lines and front and rear ports and the rear plate.Next winter I might paint this . later Don T

Had quite a day here today. Took the dash out of my truck to replace the heater core. I could not believe how many pine needles were in on top of the heater core.4.5 hrs later it was done. Dash had to be removed to get the heater box out. Then I took the back wheels off the 1512 to find out why the right brake was sticking and adjusted it. then let the air out of the tires and adjusted the chains. Put on two sets of IH wheel weights and took it for a spin. I know this tractor needs more weight than my 149 to plow snow.I will have to take the fine spline carrier out and put it in a cast rear this summer just to get that extra 48 lbs out of it. This Diesel is a bear when it comes to torque. There was no difference felt using the hydro with the extra weight was the first thing I noticed. next winter I will install the 450 snow blower and a pr of 75 lbs weights and two set of IH weights and see if that will work with the blower on. I hope you all had a good day! I did lol. later Don T

The drive shaft has no vibrations or slop. It works great. I will do this again on my 129. I have tore up two rag joints in the loader since I first put it together. Later Don T

Donald,

Glad to learn that the driveshaft works so well. Great idea with the groove pins
rofl.gif
glad they worked well.

You may want to build a rear weight bracket for the 1512 next. That "overhung" weight to the rear is most beneficial, take it from a tractor puller. Especially once the 450 is mounted, you'll need to counteract all that weight on the front.

I'd keep the aluminum case in it also, unless the mounting fasteners loosen they are virtually indestructable. I know, I have a one in my 75HP puller for 6 years with zero problems.

Yes I`am a happy man. the drive shaft is great and works great. Do the alum rears have bigger axle bearings? Just wondering if adding the extra weight will cause the bearings to go bad. I have a big wheel weight here from a big IH tractor and its 200 lbs and I was thinking of putting that on the back along with the 75 Lbs plastic covered weight and then 2 IH 25 lbs and well my 240 lbs. Thanks for your help on my 1512 D. It just might be my best working tractor with sssssssooooooooo much torque lol. Later Don T

Well I made a kubota parts run this afternoon and picket up a new hose for the one next to the water pump and a new thermostat and gasket. I will soon pull the diesel again for the last time I hope and install the front hydraulic ports.I was in are local Home Hardware looking at a new air compressor that is on sale$ $799.00 .Twin cylinder 80 gallon and 10.4 at 155 psi. my old compressor just won`t keep up with my sandblaster and I need to upgrade soon. The sale with credit plan is 12 payments of $70.00 . I might bite as I was offered $375.00 for my old unit. I must call and see if he still got that $375.00 just waiting for my Compressor. Later Don T
