I'd be interested in that..

That rear cover with the extra pins goes on a Spirit of 76 Hydro. Those extra pins in the rear covers are "Flux Capacitor Indexing Pins". They allows you to install the Flux Capacitor in the dark if the lights ever go out.

The Flux-Capacitor is a pretty rare option because there were really no earth-friendly implements you could use it with.

My understanding is that you could only purchase this accessory at a certified moon-scape IH dealer.

Perhaps Myron has some literature that will give us more info?

UPS was just here and dropped off a nice package from CC Specialties.

Scott, how many positions does that switch have? Seems like there was bright, dim, field and off.
You have to add a flasher into the line you want to flash. if you want flashing lights.

Dave R,
I was thinking of stripping the coily thingy (highly technical term) off of it and just use the switch... It looks like the stock switch, that's why I'm interested..

Kraig,
The Cub PTO was optional until sometime between 1957 and 1962. Brochures I have show it as an option in 1957, but standard in 1962. I brochures before and after those years, but none between them, so I can't say when it became standard equipment. The Cub Cadet used the same PTO, but the engagement/shift lever were different for all models except the Original. The lever on the 70/100 looks the same, but the shaft that goes thru the side of the transmission is longer and I believe it is indexed differently. All the other models have several more pieces to the shift lever to get around the fenders snd transmission/driveshaft tunnel.

Jeff B,
Not sure what the rear cover is off of, but the two dowel pin's were only used with the PTO adapter plate (same type cover with a large upper hole and some bolt holes) that the PTO bolted to.

I am looking at a 782. I don't know much about these and know they were made at the end of International production. Do they have the same quality hydo and rear end as the 1450's. I thought I read some where made after International quit production. It has not been used in several years but it is stored inside and looks complete. Unknown issues. I was told the "ran when parked" with no other information. Is there anything special I should look for. $300 is the asking price with 44" deck.

well the shims and new springs fixed my hydro problem. thanks to all for the info.

M Smith I would try to talk them down to 200.00 or lower but then I am cheap. you will need to cross reference the serial number to see when it was built (use the faq above) but from what I hear a 782 is worth 300.00

a running 782 is worth about 600- 800 depending on condition and attachments. And if its repainted...u better get a loan out. Running 982s go for 1500-3000 from running and fair shape to repainted.id say thats m Besides, thats part of the fun of owning them is fixing them
