SEAN C. - CC 72's have an internal brake rearend. There's a lever about 5-6 inches tall on the front of the transmission under the sides of the frame. Make sure that the top of that lever moves backwards just a bit as You release the clutch/brake pedal. If it doesn't You may want to back off the square headed bolt (turn counter-clockwise while looking at it) & jam nut on the bottom of the lever and give the top of the lever a light tap with a soft board or rubber mallet.

Where abouts did You "open" the transmission and inspect the brake? The brake is actually WAY down in the bottom front part of the assembly. You should jack up both rear wheels and turn one of them. The brake actually applies thru the differential so if You spin one rear wheel one direction and the other wheel spins the opposite direction You know the Diff is O-K at least.
These Cubbies are pretty simple mechanical devices, but You really should have a manual or at least investigate the Parts look-up to see how they're put together.

Anyone have suggestions for making an articulating tractor with two 129 hydros? Would appreciate any help, drawings, photos etc. Thanks Harold

Harold - go over the the "Cooler than OEM" topic and read everything in there, including the archives. That will get you started.

I seen on a post awhile back a guy had his cub on a lift table. Does any one no where to go to get one.

Mike, I think that lift table was a kind of salvage item from an old factory. It may have been a 'one of a kind' job. Later/tomorrow Kraig maybe able to find the previous post on that. If you go up top and use 'Search' try Lift Table but change connection word from OR to And, see what you get.

Looking at Service Manuals for a 147 (under 400,000). I found though a forum vender, a GSS-1404, but they said it only had 3 pages on the Hydrostatic. That doesn't sound like enough information. There is a GSS-1369 Supplement just for the hydro on the 105,123 & 125. Is their tranny close enough to have that manual help. Or is there another manual that would have more information for the 147 Hydro Tranny. They did not show one.

Todd,

Sorry, time is starting to be a premium, besides this was a good deal for both parties, one that we both couldn't pass up.

Hydraulic question:

Does anyone have any information on the WARD CO brand hyd. vallve used on the Kwik-Way loaders??? I need to replace some o-rings and thought some info would be nice before diving in head first. TIA

I was partially right about someone posting about taking speed control lever and shaft out together (with the pedistal) and having to use heat to get the handle off. it was Scott Tanner in August 2008. I had actually cut and pasted the post to a word file and found it tonight.

I got a book from amazon about garden tractors. Not really an encylopedia on them, but it has a brief write up about each brand. I noticed Colt/CASE/Ingersoll. For example, the MODEL 444 is a high clearance tractor but what is interesting, is the hydraulic drive. It is not a hydrostatic but simple a pump that is driven by the engine. How does that compare to the IH system?
Who made the IH pumps?

Gary C. I have a reprint/copy of GSS-1404 and it has thirty+ pages on the hydro stat. I got it from a guy who copied directly from an original which He had at the show I was at. It covers all models in that series and pretty much covers everything including the engines, transmissions, electrical, differentials, steering, some on mower decks, tillers and snow throwers. I think the Kohler K-series engine book is better for engines. I used GSS-1404 to do my hydrostat this winter in my 147. The guy I got it from travels around to shows most every summer and is not a Forum sponsor.

Hello all, I registered on this site a while back and while I was editing my profile (added a 107) I realized I hadn't even said hello here. So since I am up an hour early I thought I would log my first post here. Good morning!

C. Busch

While growing up we had a 122 & 124 CC. My father also purchased a used Case with the hydraulic pump/motor combo drive system. The performance was not even near the 125, however the hydraulic pump for the drive system also supplied fluid to the rototiller drive motor--that was a good concept.

DUSTIN S. - We're confused....Hole centers for WHAT on a 1X8/1X9?

Don T:
If you'd use the Firefox browser, it has a built in spell checker..It won't, however, capitalize the all lower case posts (not yours) that look like they're typed on a cell phone from one of the Twitter crowd...
