Hello everyone. Does anyone know how the bearings come out of the cast iron ends on the 38" mower deck? It looks like there are rubber seals on each end. I should have this project done just in time for the first snow fall. Thanks

Shroud assembly for a cast iron 38" mower deck. The Cub Cadet part number is IH-473419-R91. Is anyone making a replacement for this? The factory part is way too expensive. [email protected]

I've been looking through our sponsor link and am unable to find a 38" mower deck shroud assembly Part #IH-473436-R92. Is there someone who makes them up? They are still available from Cub Cadet, but are waaaay too expensive . Thank you

Up early on a Sunday - right to the Forum. Anyway, thanks Wes and Kendell, the info is very helpful. Kendell can you post the entire manual? Sounds good Tim, but I think its going to be a looong refurb. I'll post pics.

The deck I picked up does not have the spring tensioner on the pulley (part #s 29, 30 and 31 in the photo), it has a bolt straight through the pulley and deck in a slot. Is this the correct set up?

Does anyone know of a procedure to adjust an International Harvester spring assist on a narrow frame? Thanks

RichardP Nothing special, just primed, lightly, with sandable primer and used Valspar spray can. No flaking or chipping of the spring's paint at all. Good luck with yours!

Took the 147 out today for some seat time. The gas tank was half full and going up a hill it stopped running and would not fire up. I added some fuel, and no problem. Has this happened to anyone else? Also, it breaks up under load at full throttle. Under load: mower engaged, fast ground...

Paul, thanks for the picture. I see you have a hitch on you tractor, is there a way to hook up the sleeve hitch and the belt pulley at the same time?
