No pic of you falling in the mud?

Jerry B: That "jury-rig" comment was from experience, and wasn't really directed at you. I have answered question's about it before and usually get one or more cynic(s) (who "knows it all") to suggest it's ho-made, so I was just heading such remarks off at the pass....But you are correct it's really neat, and as you said, kinda like the 2-spool hydraulics options that came later.

So now that I have found the plow, do I really need a sleeve hitch or are there other ways to hook that up to my 106? I must admit I'm not a good "learn by readin" kinda guy so a pic or 2 would be helpful!

I think this pic thing is working but not sure, so here goes!

Eureka!! Primer gray!

Yes, a whole Cub does fit in the back of a chevy Blazer! It just has to be in pieces!

This one is the 104 on its way to be sandblasted.

im new here. forgive me if i posted to the wrong section or if the question has already been answered.
i searched for the question and this looked like the best forum to post in.

Kohler engine.
IH cub cadet. model 128.

im thinking of buying it. runs great at idle and full throttle in neutral and in 1st gear.

stalls and backfires at full throttle in 2nd or 3rd or when mower engaged.

owner says you have to mow in 3rd at half throttle.

any idea what might be wrong? what should i check?

and, i have owned bolens and wheelhoses but never an IH cub cadet. you do mow at full throttle, high, 2 gear, correct? im not overloading it, am i?

Lisa S. Welcome Aboard.

Good find on the replacement deck. You're right in thinking, "Sell the Sears for another Cub Cadet."

Scott S. Yepper... you'll need a sleeve hitch unless you'd like to make a cool one like Dennis Frisk made for his Cub Cadet. Also, I've never seen a whole Cub Cadet put in a Chevy Blazer.

Frank S. Matt G. is correct. For mowing most generally second gear full throttle is the most efficient.

Dennis F. do you have any pics I could see of your rear hitch that you built?

Marlin, I am suprised at some of the stuff I can fit into that Blazer, all I need now is a hitch for it and I would be in better shape! Katrina, my wife, is never too impressed with some of the stuff I cram in that thing!

Scott S. let's see if this works... Click Here for a couple of pictures of Dennis' hitch. somewhere in my mail I have a set of pics that I'll try and find. I this doesn't work then go to the Archives and check on the postings for February 26 and 27, 2009.

Scott S. I've sent you the pics that Dennis sent me. Again a really well thought and built hitch.

Lisa, welcome back! Long time no post. IIRC you had an off-topic brand lawn tractor tied up to a tree at one point trying to work on it's mower deck. Sorry to hear about your mud incident but a 50" Cub Cadet mower deck for only $10 would certainly make it worth it.

Richard and Charlie. Sorry I'm a week late. Went off to work on the 1200 last Sunday after I posted, and didn't get to it. On thurs afternoon I found out yes it was the coil, kind of. The coil slipped out of the mount and ripped the wire out of what I want to call a ballast resistor that attaches to the coil. I did replace the carb with another one I had that the air cleaner screw holes were not stripped out, so some good came. And Richard, put fuel in my tractor! That is very funny.
Again sorry for the long wait and thankyou greatly for your input! Earl

Paul, thanks for the picture. I see you have a hitch on you tractor, is there a way to hook up the sleeve hitch and the belt pulley at the same time?

More stupid coming. What are headlights like these called? Thanks.

- Peace -

Richard P.
Why that's not stupid at all.
They are called headlights.
And I know, cause that's my tractor that those headlights are attached to.

Charlie I call then really cool

But when I looked up really cool headlights I wound up on a porn site

Greg P. I would think you could "fab" something up that would work, but I don't think a standard hitch would work. The two straps that run from the top link to the bottom hitch would hit the PTO. I use a drag saw on mine and have an arm that's about 2 1/2 feet long for the top link that I use to lift the saw.

Here's a picture I took before it was finished. You can get an idea how far the PTO extends back.

Richard "P",
They call them, "The wrong kind" or "What I have laying around" lights.

Earl Ford, I think you miss-understood what I was saying about the fuel. What I was trying to say was if your tractor was running good when he borrowed it and bad when he brought it home that he may have put some bad fuel in it. Lots of times people have fuel standing around in cans and after awhile it goes bad and nothing will run on it.
