Well, big dopey me, I arrived in Mason City this evening with my 782 in tow! We came a day early to meet up with my daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids. They actually surprised me by driving all the way from western NY (Medina) to let my 2 year old grandson watch Grandpa plow. He loves Grandpa's tractor. My bride said we were coming a day early just to check out the area before I went plowing. ANYWAY, I had to attend a funeral this morning and in an effort to get out of MN before the forecast big snow, I failed to check this site one last time. Wouldn't you know it, Travis' announcement was posted at 1:50 and I left at 2:00, so I could have saved a little gas by leaving the tractor home.

On the bright side, however, my grandson was elated to see me and the tractor. And Cubby seemed to enjoy the ride! Will I win a prize for coming the farthest with a tractor and plow?

Charlie, are you still planning to bring the 1250 down? I've got the trailer here if you are, and it'll give the 782 & 1250 time to bond on the trip home! If not, I'll make other arrangements to pick it up at your place sometime soon. And, I'll take ya up on the side panels for the 1250, too.

I doubt we'll be out to Travis' on Friday night, but I'll see everyone else who makes trip at the Firehall on Saturday. I gotta show off my spiffy red IH Cub Cadet suspenders, along with my son-in-law and grandson's matching ones. (Thanks Charlie - I understand you helped out with that covert suspender mission!)

For those who can't make it this time, hope to see you soon at another event.

Just a little reminder
For those still thinking about coming to the Rockford Fire Department building on Saturday, the RAFFLE & DOOR PRIZE thing is still going to take place, as well as guys selling.
No mud there!
Come with money in hand to help support the guys that work so hard to keep others safe.

If anyone is coming from Ponca City, OK or anywhere in that region, and has room for some items, please let me know.

Well, I will be having a different type of plow day this weekend. 6"-12" plus of real wet snow. Started Thursday afternoon and Blizzard warning is until Friday 7PM. I have plowed the sidewalk 3 times already and it is still snowing. Wind gusts are up to 40mph with drifting in town. I will start planning for PD 16. By then I should have time to get a fresh coat of paint on this years project. "1400 Hydraulic" Started as 1450 with dual hydraulics, I replaced the rearend with a geardrive, and running a pump off the front electric PTO. I have plowed one garden with this set up and it sure beats the Armstrong lift. Also, since dual controls, I'm back to using my Hyd cylinder for depth control on the plow. ie. replaces depth turnbuckle on the Brinley plow. Sorry no pictures. (I used this setup at an earlier PD) Everyone have fun and be sure to save some swap items for me.

Byron-
Thanks for keeping that stuff away from the Sioux Falls area

. We had some snow, but even worse we had winds strong enough to blow some trees down last night.

Charlie what kind of plow day is on? In the ground or on the ground? Where I am we got 2 inches of very wet heavy snow.

Thought I'd post a few pics of pd 15 ... it was a balmy 70 + degrees at this plow day ..... but you needed boots as the bs was a flyin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Charlie & Travis & the Rockford firemen for a nice event. Not a plow day, but lots of good guys got together from near & far.
I picked up these 2 weights for one of my lawn tractors. Maybe you'll see me using them at Little G next August.

A friend of mine won the plow!

This is my favorite photo I took.

This is AJ & daughter Sophie from SE of Atlanta, GA! Nice seeing you AJ & Sophie! Sorry Sophie didn't get to plow!

Plow days are always a nice place to see old friends and meet new ones. A special Thanks to Charlie & Travis & the Rockford firemen for doing all the planning and making the arrangments for this event. Hopefully PD 16 will be dry, 70 and no wind.

We just got home about 8pm after leaving Thursday morning....1156.4 miles round trip. Thanks too all who helped me not bring any "for sale" items home, and I only brought 3 items back I didn't leave with...a new seat for the 782D, a tub of orange hand cleaner & and a house warming gift for the new place in Florida from Keith and his lovely wife Beth. (she is much younger looking than he...Cyrus identified him as "that grandpa guy" that lives with Beth, Ian & Paige!)

We hope to make it back from the Sun Coast this fall for the PD @ Bluniers'.

What can you say when you host a plowday where there is no plowing, and everyone comes anyway? It seems as though "thank you" isn't enough. I never did get a headcount, but I was very happy that we had the turnout we did. Seems as though everyone is just as happy if they can just get together and BS.

The Fire Dept did well for a fundraiser, and I thank you on their behalf. Also a HUGE thank you to everyone that donated door prizes!! There were some very nice items, and everyone got something.

So thank you for coming and I am looking forward to having another one in the future!!

I thought for sure we would see someone taped to a pole with all the tape Kurt brought!!!

Man Oh man, I don't know if my wife will ever let me go to another Plow day....that Rockford Chili makes for some powerfull.....

Anyway, Thanks to Travis and everybody that made the Chili!
Honestly, It was nice to have some extra time to talk to folks that are usually too busy repacing spirol pins, or gassing up, or buying, or selling,
or being a Flying Squirrel.
