Sean,

I just came across this topic. I'm in the middle of refurbishing a 42 inch plow blade and mount for my 105, (same basic frame as yours, Narrow Frame model).

Mine is all original and it pretty much completely disassembled on my garage floor right now. If you need any detailed pictures or measurements, let me know and I'll post them.

Scott,
Thank you so much for the offer. I do have everything taken care of now. Thanks to everyone on here. And a special thanks to Dave, who walked me through deciphering what was after market, and provided me with the missing parts.

Just came upon an available plow/ blade from a 102. I have a model 70. Does anyone if it will fit my tractor?

Thanks to all

Another question is the same starter/ generator used for both the Kohler 7 and 10 hp (model 7 vs 102, 10 hp)?

I was able to pick up one for a reasonable price as a back up for my OEM on my 7 hp.

Thanks

Hey Kurt - nice that David S provided you a link to FAQ #72. Basically the short answer (or in my case a little longer) to your question is yes, the Delco-Remy Starter Generator No. 1101996 that was used on your IHCC Model 70 is the exact same S/G that was used on a Model 102.

Now, considering that the IHCC Model 70 and 102 are both more than 50 years old there is a chance that someone could have changed the S/G and you may never know. So, in case you're really wondering (along with other members on here) all the Delco-Remy Starter Generators used on IH built Cub Cadets are basically the same and will work if you transfer them from one IH Cub Cadet unit to another.

There are what I consider some minor differences between the S/G's. Some of the early ones had a cast iron end with an oil cup/cap so you could re-oil the wick to keep the bearing lubricated. Some had the cast iron end withOUT the re-oiling cap. Later units had an aluminum end cap and I believe used an oil-lite bushing instead of a bearing on one end of the shaft. I've also seen units that have slightly different size (diameter) pulleys, but as far as I know and can tell they don't require a different size belt from the stock belt specified for your Cub Cadet model it's being used on. There may be some other differences that I'm not aware of or haven't seen.

Overall, what I'm saying here is that any of the Delco-Remy Starter Generators used on an IH Cub Cadet can be used on any other IH Cub Cadet. The FAQ #72 lists the various Delco-Remy S/G numbers in RED that were used on the IH Cub Cadets, and also lists other Delco-Remy S/G numbers in BLACK that can be used as replacements.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I am finally working on the plow, before the snow flies. What are the measurements between the brackets for the front attachment. I am now doubting I have the correct blade for my model 70. Now mostly refurbished. See photo compared to my avitar.
Thanks

Your sub frame appears to be for a wide frame judging by the upswing at the rear.
Need a petter picture of it laying flat on the floor away from the tractor.
NF subs are more or less straight with only a slight bend towards the front.
This is a narrow frame subframe and it is only 33 inches long.

I bought a wide frame blade for my 100 only to find out it wouldn’t fit without modification. I simple cut the sub frame arms in front of the offset and welded them back on the opposite sides so that the arms are offset outward instead of inward. The sub frame now slips over the rock shaft between the frame and foot rests. Then, I made a couple of plates that bolt on where the mule drive attaches. It appears that you already have those plates. 80A6C77A-A104-4F91-B787-A1AF3EDF83CA.jpeg

As promised attached additional pics.

Thanks again for everybody’s help.

Maybe I can remove the mule drive and use the plates (in older pic) that came with the blade/plow. Thoughts??
