Hey Don V.
I am thinking the same thing on the geo motor. I have one for an upcoming Cub project sitting in the garage...

Ok, quick question on leveling the deck on my 782. The manual says to add washers to something (I'm at work and don't have it right here). Is it talking about the metal eye thingamajiggers that slide up on the lift frame? That's the only way that I can tell to make any adjustments.

I am getting ready to re-build a K321 14hp for the 72 I just bought. (I guess that will make it a 142!) At any rate, is there anything specific to the 321 I should be aware of?

And secondary, has anybody here ever put in a diesel in a narrow frame? Is it practical? (I know its possible - heck, I got a 351 cleveland with nitorus I COULD put in it)? Is the crankshaft centerline height from the bottom of the motor higher than the k-series?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Terry!

Nice one-arm'd bandit there- what's it's picking capacity? I just used my Loader-Mutt a bit this morning to move a few things around... moved some dirt, picked up a tree trunk, a trailer, a cub, and some other stuff... loaders ROCK! (need more ballast though... it rocks a bit too much...)

No reason why you couldn't put a small cylinder and an extra valve on your machine- if you used a modular valve (can't tell from the photo), then you should be able to just unbolt the valve assembly, slide another valve in place, and bolt it back together...

If you wanna be really slick, add TWO valves... and TWO cylinders- use one to operate the belly lift, and one to operate a dedicated lift cylinder for the 3-point. Run a belly-grader, AND a box-scraper!

Torin,
Nothin that a cuttin torch won't take care of, or are ya planning on changing out the flywheel and sheet metal off a 10 or 12 horse?

Dave,
I can lift allot probably about 200-300 lbs or so.... I should weigh a full load.
I am concerned about the spindles breaking with too much of a load.
I put thrust bearings in the spindles to make steering easier.

I re-read my post and realized that It looks like I was asking the people on their opinion on adding a third cylinder.
Actually I was asking whats your opinion on the loader I built.
Here is a link to a few more pictures if anyone is interested.

P.S. My wife doesn't totally understand why I built the loader and what my "fascination" is with it.

RIT ;) ... or do you want my little IH guy to do it for you ? He turns any color Fed Yellar!

Terry B.
my opinion on the loader: nice work! there's nothing better than the satisfaction you get from using something you've built yourself.

on the spindle upgrade, some have been able to adapt the wide frame spinde carrier to the narrow frame axle by adding a spacer at the bottom.

Can anyone tell me if all of the narrow frame snowplow undercarriages are the same. I have one supposedly off a model 124 and it doesn't seem to fit my model 100. It seems impossible to get the pins into the holes in frame. Maybe there is a trick to it that I don't know. Any help would be appreciated.

John B.
The 124 blade hooks up via the quick attach, which the 100 does not have.

The 100 subframe bolts on.

You can remake the subframe so it will work without much trouble, but most generally, it's just easier to find the right subframe.

well Geezer's is cgi impaired tonight

This to see if I am logged on correctly and if I need any more help. MCHSI stopped all my spam blockers to allow me to logon. Thanks for your offer to help.

TORIN - Your just starting the same project I started way back in March.... putting a K321 into a 72. Wyatt's just a little bit ahead of Us. I wanted to get all My fall yardwork out of the way before I tore the donor K241 apart that's already in the 72. I put right at 25 hours of seat time (according to the hour meter) on the old girl the last two weekends.... I think I'm done with leaves & aerating for the year. "CUB CADET.... For Those who take FARMING two acres as seriously as farming 2000!" The K241 has over 1220 hours on the last rebuild from 20 yrs ago and ran faultlessly the whole time.... Kinda makes Me wonder why I want to tear it apart! Only advice I can give You on K321's is to check the crankshaft keyway carefully.... The greater torque of the engine tended to hammer out the drive key for the S/G pulley & PTO drive. They needed a longer key from the factory.

Torin-
Just from my experience as things go with building my K321, it's likely better to go with a K341, it'll likely cost just as much, possibly less.

You don't have to look very far, just scroll up a tad bit on this page to all those pretty colored boxes and click one. I know Travis sells those and I'm sure the other sponsors of this site do as well.
