Denny,

Of course there are some sleeve hitches on 187's and 982's out there too

.....best of both worlds....

Dennis,

Thanks for your thoughts. That makes sense. In looking at the pics, the sleeve hitch looks much simpler and I think I could justify the cost better given the relatively small garden spot I have. Yeah, the last discussion was a few days ago, but unfortunately, I am not able to get on the forum nor work on the tractor as often as I would like. But I certainly appreciate everyone's help.

Visited Ol' friend Rob Houtz yesterday. When you need parts, you gotta' go to the mountain.

Kraig, Many thanks for the link to the lift bar attaching plate assembly.
I wrote to CC Specialities last week but asked for a secondhand part which they did not have. I agree is a rather complex part and I am surprised it was lost by the PO. He possibly had to mutilate it in a removal process. He even cut a slot in the chassis in the process. Nowhere can I find a decent picture of how it attaches to the lift lever. I presume it bolts to the slot in the lever below the toothed rack. Thanks again. Dawid (Johannesburg, South Africa)

Dawid, Here is a LINK to the Installation Manual for the rear lift. The manual is for the 70/100 but should be close enough to the 102 to make sense for you. I'll try to remember to take some photos of mine with a ruler in it for dimensions. If I don't get some photos for you by Monday next week please remind me. Kind of busy right now with a project at home and I might forget. OK, I'm getting old as well which could also lead to me forgetting.

Kenneth P.,
Thanks for the compliments. I painted my cub with a Kobalt touch-up or finish sprayer (around $32). The small sprayer doesn't use much air. The compressor used is a Porter Cable 6 Gal. pancake compressor($150). The paint was Case/IH Irongard.

Dennis F.,
What is the price on those tri-ribs?

Kraig M.,

Nice cat. I believe he is telling you to look at all that dang dirt you got on his nice tractor!

Seem to remember (but can't find it through search) an alternative to helicoil head repair. Drill & tap for a different plug.

Anyone have the details?

TOM - Check "Keensert" on your favorite search engine. We just had that discussion about a week ago at Redpower Magazine forum.

Marty, that's the same compressor I have. Didn't think it put out enough cfm for a sprayer. Thanks.

Thanks Dennis

I was actually thinking of a redrill and tap the head with a larger hole rather than an insert. Substitute a different plug.

ANYONE?

Plowed my neighbor's garden today. Since my right shoulder has been hurting lately, I decided to use my 100 with hydraulic lift.

No action shot since I was alone.

Done.

Norm B. and Donald T. By no means am I ever to be considered an expert on these little hydros. You both are correct with Steve B. and so many others having such great knowledge about their experinces with the 15U hydro systems. I've always felt that it is our combined knowledge and the willingness to share it with others is the magic that makes the difference.

Norm B. I'd go with the Diesel re-power for your Cub Cadet.

Chad M. Go onto Sleaze-bay and check under Sears or Craftsman garden tractors. Look for one of the CAT O three point hitches and adapt that to your Cub Cadet. To me that would be a LOT easier than cutting/welding/fabricating each individual piece of equipment. If my knee holds up and work doesn't beckon too much of my time then this summer I plan on making a CAT O for Clarence (102 with rear pto) for my three point Sears cultivator.

Kraig M. Angel loves the pictures of Selah and would like to ask for your permission to post them on her website.

Tom H. Oh man... That would be enough to make me cry. (Of course if they had the parts that I needed it would be tears of hapapiness).

Kirk L. Very nice job of plowing. How'd you hurt your arm? Doctor told me that the cartiledge in the left knee is fraying and there is some bone to bone contact. That explains my grumpiness lately. A shot of cortizone sure helped.

Marlin,

I am in luck! I can get that exact one off of my grandfather's old tractor. I debated whether to get it in the first place. I guess I will next trip. Finding the way to adapt it into the lift system would be the task. I know I could use one of the rear plates off of one of the sponsors pages to mount the center plate on. Any thoughts of your own?

Chad

Tom H.,
You could probably find another head from someone. The sponsors at the top would be a good place to start. I'm not sure about retapping a head. It may not hold up long, and a hotter plug could burn a hole in the head!

Kenneth P.,
The finish sprayer with the low air volume works fine with that compressor because of the intermittent spraying. It's not like you are constantly spraying all the time. The compressor has time to catch up. If you want, I can find the model of the sprayer and give it to you.

Kirk L.,
Nice job, nice 100! We all love pics!

Charlie,
Did you add those neat cliparts to the selections? NICE!

Marlin H.,
That rear pto will just be in your way of the hitch. Let me know how much, and I will pay for you to ship it to me!

Marlin, Thanks...Not sure how I hurt the shoulder. My regular doc had x-rays taken of it and said looked like a normal healthy shoulder. If pain persists he will send me on to a specialist. Been making me grumpy too says the wife!

Chad-

I think I read recently that you can't have the 3 pt and the rear pto. Check out the manual on mounting the 3 pt hitch.

Wayne that was my thought also. I was going to ask how far the pto stuck out because it would not take much to interfer with any thing on the back was my thinking.

Chad-
I forget what model cub you're working with, but here is a picture of my <strike>daughter's</strike> 100 with a rear PTO and sleeve hitch...
