Kraig - What Brian is 'ferin to (I think) is one has the short head shield like your KK and then there's one that goes out all the way over the head. I believe I have both types here on my 301s.

Best I can do with it in ... it's my 122 K301 in my 127. You can see the head shield between the head and muffler heat shield.

KENtucky, could be. If you look at the lower parts diagram, the baffle shown is the full coverage version. Actually, I believe both parts drawings show the full coverage version but the second one doesn't show the access holes for the head bolts....

I've been meaning to snap some shots of my 100's frame. What could have been bolted there where the 3 holes are and the rusted squared off area is?

Ken, Kraig

I think you guys are right. Wish I had a camera phone that day, hadn't ever seen one with the full cover so it looked odd to me. There again any complete cub looks odd to me.

Art, there wouldn't be room under there for a flux-capacitor. It would drag the ground. At least every one I've seen was way too big to fit...

I thought I would share what the big brown truck brought today, LOL
I was supposed to get 12 of the 100, 102, 122, 123 Steering Wheels on the left. Instead they sent 11 of the one on the right!

CHARLIE - What You going to do with that stray 982 or SGT steering wheel?

Does anyone have any infomation as to the test and adjustment on the spring assist on my CC 147? I've checked my manuals, FAQ and ather resources with no luck. Trying to lift the tiller for me is vertually impossible. When I get two coins to rub together I hope to find a electric lift.

James N.-

Simply tighten the bolt that connects the spring to the back of the tractor until you can lift the tiller.

Jim N. RE: electric lift. My 147 is missing the lift also but in no hurry to replace it. I suspect you will have to pay as much for a unit as some guys have paid for a whole used tractor !

I installed the steering column in the 128 this evening. I did not fully tighten the bolts to the frame. I noticed that there is not much clearance between the jam nut/stud and the throwout lever for the clutch something like 1/16 of an inch. Is this normal or am I missing a washer/shim behind the steering column to frame mount? I took some pics, but they did not turn out to well

Charlie - What ja gots thar iz a round manual power steering attachment.

Charlie-
Those steering wheels you got look like the ones people were talking about "back in the day" when there was discussion centering around how the 70/100 & 1X2/3 steering wheels were "updated" to one with a deeper "dish" to it.

Could that be what those are?

There's more to the story, but I'm not going there, and frankly it doesn't matter at this point.

I think you got the "updated" wheels that Cub Cadet now calls correct for those tractors....
