MARTY - That Westley's has been around for better than 50 years, back when ALL wheels were painted.

Either use it, a mild dish soap, stiff bristle brush like Steve B says and lots of elbow grease.

My #1 snow pusher has CaCl solution in it from decades ago, before 1968 when Dad bought it. I never really knew CaCl would stain rubber tires. I know it really does a number on steel rims!

Back when Dad was farming, no matter how muddy, dirty, covered with road oil or anything the tractor tires were, mowing, raking, & baling twenty acres of Alfalfa hay removed it.

Marty,

it won't harm the rims... I've used this for year, until i switched to Catrol Super Clean for all of my cleaning... I think Bleech-White is the best product for the tire stains, though

You know how we're all telling Don to slow down and take it easy? . . . to not rush himself and do too much too soon?

Well I'm thinking that if Don didn't try too much, too soon he wouldn't be Don! Besides, if he's even THINKING about doing too much, it indicates that he's feeling OK.

If he were feeling sick, he would be talking about selling his Cubs again.

So, I say, GO FOR IT DON! Don't slow down til the back/neck hurts!

Charlie, Marty probably has a large pin up of his Cub next to the 'puter and can't keep his eyes of it.

I think someone should start a thread in the sandbox about tire cleaners, instead of the main forum.

I recently put a new piston and rings in the k301 from my 129, it now has kicked its smoking habit, I timed it per Matt G instructions. My first time timing one, now it starts on first rotation. So as the saying goes timing is everything.. I think my 149 is next.

I also took the snow thrower off the 149 so either spring is here or I jinxed up a snow blizzard.

working on my 61 original

how can i get the spiral pin out?

i have been spraying it with pb and using punches
any ideas?
heat?

Chris R are you using a roll pin punch? a regular punch will not work good if at all.

I fought with one once and the bouhgt a roll pin punch and shazam it came out.
