Charlie, so your 782D is safe and wasn't in the building that burned? Have you heard from Flyin Squirrel recently?

Kraig,
The D, one Original, and one green machine were in another building, with NO electricity in it, LOL

As a matter of fact, Kurt stopped by not to long before the blaze.
He's trying to talk his better half into moving up in this neck of the woods.
I told her to leave him!!!!!!!!!! He's NUTS!

I just bought a Cast Iron lower grille housing, I think this might help pushing the 54" blade around a bit. It was kind of hard to find. I've been looking for a while. Soon as I get it the aluminum one is going up for sale. Was the nose piece cast iron too or always aluminum?

Brian, Charlie, thanks for the update on Flyin Squirrel.

Good to hear that at least the 782D and an Original were safe, depending on what model the Green one is I'll reserve my "at least....safe" comment on it.

Don T - I'm not an engineer and can't explain the "internal wet brake" but the fluid must have some effect. I know I had been sitting on a slope before with the brake on, and eventually started rolling.

Rolled because the check valves released pressure (manual bleed off over time, automatic hold for 10-15 sec. then bleed off) and the hydro quit "helping" the brake hold the tractor.....adjust brake tighter to fix.

WET brakes run in oil.....that simple, has nothing to do with actuation. HYDRAULIC brakes use oil to actuate them.
