We're getting snow!!!!

Okay, so just a few flurries, but it's a start.

I got a blade put on my 100 today. Just need some chains and weight on the back. Got the CW36 thrower on the 127 and I'll take my 1450 with blade to work again this year, as the boss said it was okay.

I've got chains and turfs from the 1450 in the 23/10.50 size. I might just put those on the 100 and see how it does. Only one of the tires is filled with fluid though. I should get a tube and put in there and fill it. I wish I had another set of 8.50 chains or 6-12 chains.

Keith,

When people are younger this snowy season brings the joy of moving snow. Us old fogies see this as a chance to feel the bones ache, get cold and never warm up till spring, envision trains derailing and hips breaking, stuff like that.

I had one of those snow globes you shake to see snow as a kid. Now at 56 yrs old I'd smash it in a heartbeat. Visions of plowing ground and cutting lawn are in my head. I am not old just cantankerous!

Hey Keith,

Just blowing smoke before, I have the snowthrower on my post 1981 Cub Cadet diesel(sorry) and am ready to kick butt on old man winter.
This is the first time I've been out of work for an extended period of time and will be scrounging to pay the added costs of living through the winter. Tends to make a guy a little crabby

But anyway, I'd be happy to do w/o any significant snow this winter, same for real cold temps. You may have my snow, if you get my drift

I'd be fine with that.

Tell ya what, you trade me all your snow I'll give you what I have......
My yard is so wet the water squishes under my feet, and that's after a week with no rain. We usually have snow by now. Wonder if the 1450 and snow thrower will throw water...

Another thought on putting round fenders on the 1450, suppose the Cozy Cab won't fit anymore. I could live with a Windbraker though.

Gary,

It is longer, but I don't know how much. I made it like the 782 front, attached it to the rock shaft, and then measured the length. the exact length will vary with how and where you mount your sleeve hitch casting. I like to have mine set up so that it has about 1/2" of clearance between the fender deck and the 1" round stub when all the way up.....then mark the hole for the bushing/bolt and drill.

Jim D.

Isn't it amazing how easy it is to add the sleeve hitch, and how nice it is to have a simple sleeve hitch plow and not the hard to adjust, trash plugging 3 pt. versions?!?!?!?!

Donald,

It uses the 5 bolts in the drawbar and is just a big version of the std bracket with additional flat stock welded to the inside to allow the pins to pull in double-shear.

This is the only other one I have handy....

Brendan,

Yes, I know from experience that it will throw water, but you'd better throw it downwind and downhill.

Jerry

Thanks Don for the info I did not get a chance to get on the site to see your post yesterday I had the battery tested last night it tested okay so I will try clean the cables tonight thanks don.

KENDELL - re: Your comment about 2-way hyd. on a loader. I agree 100%. Both of my FARMALL's are live 2-way, the SH is factory and the M is M&W add-on.

I was just having a conversation with another forum member about how that is a bare minimum for most jobs. I'd really like to have a hyd. bucket but it's probabvly not going to happen for a while.

Dave Ross:
They'll throw stones too.. also mud, grass and parts that have dropped off. They're pretty good at winding things up also

I was about to replace the points on my 149 when I noticed the wire from the points to coil was worn/cracked and maybe arcing. I want to replace the wire. Anyone know off hand what guage wire I should use?

Kraig/Kendell...never took a picture, but they do a nice job on thin rubber door mats too! Didnt stall the Kohler but sheared a few pins.

Kendell-
Wow! That's a great idea. If you'd do away with all of that silly "flighting" on that snowblower, think of all the room you would have for literally 1,000's of feet of extension cord.

And to think, when you're all done using the cord, hit the PTO on your cub for about .0463829 seconds, and it's all wound up!

Zzziiiiip!!

Some guys are just smarter than me!

Her is what i`am up to today.Just can`t get the paint to dry

. Oh well ,I want to put some slip plate on the tub to help getting the snow to move. Later Don T

Kraig:
I was looking for that picture....the explanation is...ummmm, well, I forgot where the extension to the Christmas lights on the bridge was buried. I remembered in about a second, which as Art pointed out, is enough time for at least 50 feet to be wound up. Notice how nicely it wound, also - without the flighting, you'd need a stacker to get it that nice ....
Anytime I'm doing anything with a mower or tractor, my wife gets suspicious if I come in for the camera.....
