Thanks Matt i guess i will have to pull the tiller from my 1200 and put on the mowing deck and tear into the front end of the 128. I see your in rockford I am between Ridott and Pecatonica by the God be to Glory barn. any suggestions on how to make it easy to repair. I will clean it up and post pics.

Jeff matt makes good points. Jack up the front end up so the axles free and see if you can get a finger in the hole from the back side. With the other hand wiggle the front axle around to try to feel if it's out of that rear bushing completely or just moved forward. Prolly do that with the deck on but down, that will tell you what to do next.

Can anyone tel me where to get info on Haban sickle bar mowers. Ifound one but dont know if it will fit my 125.

Well, I'm off. Headed to Wisconson today. Hope to chat with ya soon.

,

I am curious Matt. You got a reading of 100 psi on your current compression check. How? I mean wouldn't the compression release keep the compression "low" while cranking? It's obvious I've yet to break out my tester.

Richard P.,
And a Good Morning to you, my Friend!
I believe if you spin the engine fast enough (good battery, starter/generator, no other mechanical issues) it will overcome the ACR and give you an accurate compression reading.
I seem to recall this question/subject being mentioned in my CC125 Service Manual.

Richard P.-

Hopefully someone can verify this, but I don't think the K161 and K181 have the compression release.

Jeff-

I'd take the deck off and degrease the underside of the tractor in that area so you can see what you are doing. If you're lucky, you might be able to jack up the rear, tap the pivot pin back where it belongs, install the roll pin to hold it in place, and be done with it. If either bushing is damaged, you will have to weld new bushings in or replace the frame.

Sorry I was off line. Any info on Haban would be appreciated. For my 125

Melody:
I'm not sure, but I think Charlie was trying to point you at a Yahoo group for Haban products.. The Group picture right now is of a Narrow Frame w/a sickle bar mower on it... Take a look here and decide if you want to join....

Matt, others
The K161 engines with a spec number suffix of "J" and up have an Automatic Compression Release (ACR)camshaft, as does the K181 with spec number suffix of "D" and up. Prior to those suffix letters, both engines used a spark advance system that used a different cam and some other associated parts.

Thank-you for info. Tried to get on their website but did not succeed. Oh-Well!

Is there a posted message about how to upgarde the front end of a cub 1250 so as to be able to mount a Fel

Lou, Thank-you for info. I think Ineed a 402D but your info helps to see how it goes on. Found a426A, but I don't think it goes to a Cub Cadet.

Okay I get the message Charlie!! To keep this on the subject Can you spell,Look what followed me home? 104 with 42" deck.New clutch but whoever did it didn't put in a new teaser spring or any anti rattle clips.Spring is broke but it runs and cuts grass.

Melody, You have new mail

Anybody know if the armature shaft in a starter/generator is hardened? It's kind of acting like it is, and I need to fix up the threads for the nut on the end. If it hardened, I guess I'm going to need to buy a new armature...

I went to install the mower deck back under my 1450, and now can't seem to get the PTO to engage. I took the deck off last fall, and everything worked as it should. But now I flip the switch and get nada, I took all the connectons apart and reconnected every thing, but still nothing. Any suggestions?

Last year we drove by this place with a Cub on the roof but was going way too fast to check it out. This year we stopped for pics, looks like he used it for a mail box at one time....not a bad idea
