Since you have the wheels off stick in a couple of bolts on the axles and put a pipe or something in between them to hold them from turning against the floor.

IF no one has every heard humming birds whistle then you're missing something ! I'd never heard them do it until this year and there's 3 of them doing it. One just about 20 feet from me.

KEntucky, never heard one whistle, I've been buzzed by them plenty of times. Each time I thought it was a BIG bumble bee and I ducked.

You are correct they sent me the wrong tiny tack for sure.

What a difference even 3465 rpms make over 2689 rpm lol

In the FAQ's they say to use a washer in place for a carb throttle sytem repair, but they never said the sizes soes anyone know what type of washer to use?

Eric, a quick forum search turned up this:

Peter S: The procedure shown in Cub FAQ # 24 is the correct procedure. Finding one of those multi-layered washers is the problem... H-o-w-e-v-e-r!! Ta Da !

Go to your nearest Ace Hardware (or full line hardware store) and purchase (or order) a Hillman bronze thrust bushing. It's Hillman part # 58087-A. It'll do the trick at less than a $ buck!!, Tamp that rascal down into that recess in the carb body and you will have replaced the wear surface just like new.. No more sloppy throttle shaft for another couple of decades...

I also found this:

Todd H: Rebuild the Carter!!!! The Walbro's were Cheap-Cheap to begin with and age hasn't improved them any!!

Go to your nearest Ace (or other) Hardware and buy/order 2 Hillman 58087 bronze thrust bushings. They will be found listed on page 97 of the Hillman Refillable Assortments Catalog. They fit down over the throttle shaft and tap them in to the recess at the top of the carb body. These will solve the worn/sloppy throttle shaft problem. Then install the standard Kohler Carb rebuild kit. Kohler also has those little ole screws available (separately I think). I know they come in the choke rebuild kit....See your nearest Kohler parts dealer. Cub Cadet likely also has them available, but will be more costly.

I believe the # 58087 Hillman bushings are 1/4" ID, 7/16" OD, 1/16". You'll need two of these or one of the # 58087-A. I think.

Myron????

KENtucky, did you get my email to your other account?
