Art,

Did you notice that strip of chewed up sod behind the landside wheel of the Plow Special in that last photo??????........12 more oz. in that hand would have given me just enough more weight to keep her from spinning

That 10hp was eatin' up the ground really well, and I was impressed with the way the tractor handled the plow........it wasn't a hydro of course

,but it was a nice ride, thanks for the offer!!!!!

Jim D's Super Diesel was sure effortless to run.....with 26" Firestone 23deg tires loaded with fluid and a 17hp diesel under the hood, all you had to do was let the plow in the ground, push the hydro lever all the way forward, and sit back and enjoy the ride!!!!!

What a great day in the field.

BTW, did everynody get a chance to say hi to Julian from Midwest Super Cub???? He (and his kid) were sure having a good time plowing when I talked to him........a little different kind of load than pullers are used to dragging around!!!!!

Morning all...
The tractors are all put away. Bar treads off and turfs on for their mowing duties...what a wonderful weekend we had.

For those that are wondering, there were 68 participants registered, bringing 80 or so tractors. At one point I counted 37 tractors in the furrow at once, and we all managed to turn under around 25 acres. I want to say Thank You to Andre and Melissa Kraft for their wonderful hospitality, and the use of the grounds. Once again, the sandier soil made for a great event were everyone could make a good show if they took a little time to set up properly.
Unofficial estimates after the drawing were around 120- 150 people on the grounds, and there were garden tractors every where you turned. The Cub Cadets sure outnumbered the John Deeres again, but we seem to be developing a great comaraderie between the groups.
Now for the credits...
A BIG thanks to the 4Hers from the Extension Agency for the great vittles. The cinnamon rolls Saturday morning were a personal favorite!
We handed out over 30 raffle prizes, and though I didn't catch who won each of them, I think I got a list here of all that donated.
TH Creations gave Deere 140 and Cub Cadet embroidered Shirts and Hats... Had a tough time getting rid of the Cub ones, but the 140 items went real fast...
John Lang brought a set of tri rib front tires, and a bag of seed corn, the corn won by Chad Kraft.
Ken Updike donated two Kohler service manuals and a Kohler toy truck.
Rob Dehli brought along some Country music Cds and some JD caps from a local dealership.
Ryan Mull graciously donated some Fast Orange hand cleaner, nictrile gloves and 2 buckets of garage wipes ( I won those!!! THEIR GREAT!!!!!)
Kraig McConaughey donated 2 Spring Break Videos, yet to be completed from the 2 hours of raw footage he took. Kraig does an incredible job of documenting these events with hundreds of photos. Kraig foregoes spending time on his tractor to take these images so we can all enjoy them afterwards. Thank you Kraig. One of the videos was won by Andre Kraft.
Hapco donated 2 $25 gift certificates for parts, one was won by Mike Schiefelbein and 1 subscription to the LGT News I believe won by Steve Sachs.
Al Zimmerman went above and beyond and fabricated two A Frame Cat 0 hitches for the event, 1 in Deere green and the other in Cub Yellow, a lot of folks were hoping their number was the one drawn for those two items...Jim Dietrichs took one of them home.
And a big thanks to Art Aytay for the donation of an AgriFab Cultivator, won by I believe Joe Persoon, after we drew Art's number!!!!
A big thanks you from Mike and me for all of you that donated prizes, and an equally big thanks to those who purchased tickets. It looks like we will be looking for an organization to donate some money to, so if you have a favorite, besides Mike Horn's Brass Tag Kingdom, please let Mike or me know.
Jeff Dupuis won a 140 embroidered T- shirt from TH Creations for traveling the farthest to the event. I don't know how far 1800 km is, but it is a long ways. Jeff drove about fifteen hours to attend, and also picked up my Sweepster TR 48.
A special thanks to Steve Blunier for helping new comers and others get their plows set up. Those that were there saw some of the best Brinly plowing ever.
And a big thanks to Al Z., Mike S. and Art A. for their help on Friday.
Keep checking The Gallery for pics, as well as the Cub Cadet Forum, for more info about this last weekends event.
Thank you all for making it such a success. If you had half as much fun as I did, you had a blast.

Ryan M. -

Hey, Robb's right - Tedd and I broke into the tub of wipes on the way home and they are awesome! Thanks again for the box o'goodies...

And hey, sorry I brought your pull to a standstill when I hopped on the sled

Steve-
The Plow Special was honored to be run by "Mr. Plow" himself!

Thanks to the following people:
1)Robb and Mike for everything they did to make this weekend a success.
2)Ryan Mull for the care-package of cleaning supplies.
3)Keith E and the Detrich Boys for letting me drive the 129+ and that Diesel. What awesome machines!
4)Everybody who showed up to my cookout and didn't trash the joint! (Michelle even complimented you guys saying that it could happen again next year!)
5)And thanks to everyone who helped replace the broken spirol pin when the Plow Special decided to hand me it's shift lever in the middle of the furrow!

Art -

You mean even after the snoring and everything???

And hey, at least we didn't get out the rubber gloves

I would like to thank everyone involved for providing the opportunity for us to get together and turn some dirt. It was a blast!

I'm not sure that the Super 8's shower will ever be the same, however. With all the dirt that I brought in from the field, it's surprising that there's any left on the Kraft farm.

And, I'm proud to announce, that I FINALLY made it through a plowing event without breaking anything. How nice that is, for once!

Already started planning for the fall.....

Keith, if only Art could say that about not breaking anything........)

Here's a photo of Keith.

Well, at least I was able to get it fixed both times! <FONT SIZE="-2">With the help of some very good friends!</FONT>

I'd like to brag, but it's always been my experience that a single data point does not a trend make.

Looks like I have my serious face on there. I'll try to smile more in future pics.

Who would have thought that after driving 541 miles, I wouldn't get the 'Longest Drive' prize. . .a guy from CANADA drove 1800 km/1118 miles. . .GEESH!

We had a great time still. 19 1/2 hours in the truck in a span of 36 hours is rough though.

Had a great time Friday night @ the Aytay place, thanks everybody!

Saturday was a blast. Weather was sunny & 70. . I have some red to prove it as well. . (Not as bad as Tedd though!)

1408 Plow Special worked out wonderfully, in the afternoon I was plowing in 3rd gear wide open in the second field, and I still couldn't get away from Keith! He had a nice spin on the 1408PS afterwards and has vowed to have a gearjammer @ the fall event now.

Glad everybody liked the care packages, just a way to say thanks for the effort you put in on the forum and for the friendships. I plan on doing more in the future for others as events come up.

Amanda took a little over 100 pictures in the morning and rested in the afternoon. She had a good time driving the diesel around taking pics, and watching people plow. She can better put faces with names now, and she really enjoyed dinner @ Arts.
