I have a MW Garden Mark Squire 10. I agree on the nice look. It is hard to find info, there is a Gilson Collector's site on Yahoo, I have joined but not active yet.....might be a good place to start. There are also some manuals for sale on eBay.

I don't have any pictures of it yet, but I am the proud owner of a new Kubota BX2660 as of this morning. It was delivered today complete with a front end loader, grille guard and a 60" deck. "Manly" just took a giant leap forward at my house today! Sweet!

John L. Howdy!!! It is a sweet looking little fella. A coworker has a Cub LoBoy with snowthrower, front blade, three point hitch, mower deck, chains, creeper and Cozy cab. Always shedded and looks awesome. it is the model that looks like a 124 series. I wouldn't mind owning it since it even has the original 1x4/5 series seat on it. He even has it for sale.
I don't have the room or the $4000.00 that he wants for the package.

Now for a question for ALL. A good friend and coworker has an Allis Chalmers 414 shuttle shift garden tractor. He's visited with a couple of AC guys that know a lot about AC garden tractors. Neither knows much if anything about the AC 414 model. Does anyone here knows of a good source for some used parts? TIA.

Some of my daughters summer toys!! Anyone hear of a Smithco trap rake? kids love it, a little to slow for the ole man.

My Buddy is "building" a JD 317 for His Son. Actually making one out of two wrecks He's bought. First one He bought looked good but had a blown KT-17 series I Kohler (surprise!). Second one had the Onan replacement engine with "Issues" Starter made a terrible racket. His local JD L&G dealer said a new JD starter & flywheel would total over $1100.00. So He found a new starter at an automotive starter/alternator rebuild shop for $125 and I guess it's running now. And We all thought CC parts were expensive!

KRAIG, Brad - re. the glass jar air intake pre-cleaners. Yes. that IS a small fruit jar, but now they are getting expensive, typically $20-$25 for a replacement jar and $125 for a good whole precleaner for most models of IH's. They were very common on IH's in the late 40's & 50's. But the problem is they really don't work well for catching dust & dirt, just those little green 1/64th scale tractors. My Super H had one when Dad got it in spring '68. We switched it over to a Donaldson style like used on most 300/350/400/450's with the plastic donut-shaped bowl. Works better but with the stone-age technology of the oil bath air cleaner I know dust & dirt still would get into the engine if We would still use it like when We farmed.... I remember pulling the peg-tooth harrow one spring with it with a strong southerly breeze, dust from the harrow was so thick & blinding going north I could barely see the fence on the north end of the field, had to gauge My turns by the telephone poles & wires along the fence instead of the fence itself. When I got done with the 40-acre field there was maybe 1/8" of dust/dirt in the collector. I think that was the ONLY time I've ever emptied anything out of it in the 40 yrs it's been on the tractor. There was 1/8" thick later of dust on the HOOD so I knew the precleaner wasn't doing much. When the 55 yr old engine gets rebuilt for the first time...a dry-type pleated paper filter will be part of the plan.

Kraig/Dennis,
The "plastic dounut shaped bowl" precleaner is still used today on many of the Caterpillar machines. We empty them about once a week.

TOM H. - I imagine the ones on Your CAT's is a bigger model! One on the Super H is maybe 6" dia, and the M has one about 8-9" dia.

Maybe it's because the bigger engines use more air, diesel's especially, but the larger dia. precleaners seem to separate out dirt much better.

Cory, Like Marlin said, I think they were asking about $4000 for the package on that Cub LoBoy.

I bought a cub cadet tractor and I am having a hard time finding a manual for it.I do have the model#237143J

I was wondering if anyone had one of the "other red" tractors and then I saw your post terry. Nice horses. They will always have a special place with me. My dad's first garden tractor was a 1965 875 WH. He used that machine exceptionally hard in the late '70's. We have some awesome slides of him plowing our garden with the front wheels off the ground just givin' it! The old 8hp was pretty tired by the early 80's and so dad rebuilt the tractor and and repowered it with a Kohler 12 hp. I spent hundreds of hours of seat time cutting lawn with that old machine until it was my brothers turn. Dad eventually got a new machine but thankfully he kept the old work horse. After seeing some of the restos you have done on your tractors, I am going to see if I can convince him to do a father-son resto on it. I will have to track down decals and some miscellaneous trim parts but it is mostly complete.

Joshua,
I also had a 1963 753 and a 1981 C-125 Automatic. I traded the C-125 in January and I sold the 753 last month.

Here's another "Look what followed me home".

I was parked in an Ace Hardware lot and a guy pulled in with this in the back of his pickup. He was taking it home to remove the starter and put it on his green tractor. He said I could have it when he was done...he was just going to take it to the dump!

It's mostly there...I need to get another starter and the belt guards, and some seat cushions. He said the engine runs, but it will need some carb work.

Nice Minne! You gotta' love being in the right place at the right time. Do you know anything about it- like the model, year of manufacture, or engine make and power?

Thanks Joshua,
I don't know a whole lot about these tractors. It's a 108 Town & Country. I understand they were produced starting in 1964, but I don't know the year of this one. It has a Kohler K181 8hp. I've been wanting one since I saw pictures years ago. I'm hoping to do a complete restore on it, so I'm trying to find sources for parts, decals, etc. There doesn't seem to be alot of info out there like there is for our CC's.

Michael, you should have been at Plow Day 14 and seen what a guy named Ron Becker brought to show! To see photos of them, CLICK HERE and scroll down.
