What's up guys. Evan here, from the northern VA area. Always thought of Cub Cadets since I was a toddler, riding around with grandpa mowing the grass on his 129 (I think it was). That tractor, unfortunately, is long gone but I can still remember getting to mow with it by myself for the first time. It left in lieu of a brand new Hustler zero turn with twice the deck size, that cut the mowing job from an entire day to a few hours. Oh well, such is progress and life I suppose.

Just picked up a new (to me) Cub 1200 last weekend. Got it running and cleaned up, and am excited to put it to use this spring. Should turn heads around the neighborhood, for sure.

welcome. im new as well and bought three tractors in three weeks. love the quietlines. plan is to have a hydro lineup - 12 14 16 50s & 1810/12

I understand but have plenty to learn. Grew up toying with 2 cycle kawasaki jetskis. These just make work fun & get weird neighbor stares ! Ha ha !
Honestly, that's the only reason I bought my Cub Cadet. I've got a 1/2 acre in a subdivision to mow. I wanted to get some looks from the neighbors as I mow the front yard with a 70s lawn mower, haha.

I have a 6 ft standard wood fence - 7 x 8 or 9 panels. At most 4000 sqft have a flower spot runninmost of the 7 panels with a rock path & a shed. WAY overkill & it just makes me EFing smile. I'm going to enjoy the looks mowing & drinking a beer....getting a tan

Evan, your Cub Cadet is so much more than a 70’s lawn mower. These old Cub Cadets are true garden tractors, which can be fitted with a mower deck and/or ground-engaging implements, snow blades/throwers and more. Mere mowers, not so much.

To call it a lawn mower simply doesn’t convey the very capable purpose(s) these machines were engineered for… even if one simply mows with it and little else. They can certainly be a darn good mower!

Of note, lawn tractors generally lack the capability of the old Cubs and just aren’t as sturdy. “LT”’s they're often referred to as, in this community, as opposed to “GT”’s like our classic Cub Cadets (built by International Harvester and later by the Cub Cadet Corporation).

For the constructive purposes of mutual awareness and shared understanding, I respectfully share this as something that I’ve learned here.

My Cub is an iHCC model 100. Someday, I’ll add an (iH/CCC) 82-series GT to the fleet. 🤞🏽 I too enjoy the appreciation my neighbors share when I put my 100 to work in the neighborhood. Cub Cadet pride!

Welcome to the community,
-C3

I'd like to clear snow for my hood next winter. Cut grass with a 44" or larger deck & be done in 20 minutes. Maybe even offer to help mow a neighbors lawn. Would be cool to build a front end loader & a back hoe to dig a swim pond. I think these tractor are awesome.
Wont need a hearse got a garden tractor . . .
