Update. Just need to get a tarp for this partial woodpile.

Wow, those stacks look great. Do you weight the corners of the tarp down, or do the 4X4 timbers you have there keep the tarp from blowing away?

Art, thanks! I use patio blocks on top of each corner. If you look close you can see them. Also 2x4s are laid on top. The 4x4s leaned onto the piles allow the tarps to "breath" but not blow off.

Here's a photo that shows the patio blocks and 2x4s better.

Kraig, ya know, you could have suggested that he stop by one day and take an actual look for himself. Your too good to him...that because he does welding for you ? ?

Allen,

After thinking about it Art may have been referring to the lower corners of the tarps. They do flap around in the wind and occasionally they will flip up but the tarps stay in place on the wood piles. When I mentioned that the wood piles breath, this is what I was referring to. I like to have good airflow around and through the wood to help it dry and keep it dry.

I never tarp this early the tarps don't come out untill the first forcast for snow, I feel tarps trap bad moister, where as uncovered it dries and evaporates off,,jmho

Jeff, I usually don't put tarps on this early either but it has been so wet that I'm trying to keep it as dry as possible. As I mentioned the way I have the tarps secured they breath which allows the wood to dry.

Kraig-
That's a good idea about the "breathable" tarps. I guess it would be similar to being under the roof of an open building.

Oh, and if Allen ever shows up around these parts with a Cub, I'm gonna weld his mower-deck linkage up tight!
