I've just had my 2 frnt tires replaced with new Carlise turfs & on its first cruise I noticed there was a severe woble from that rim then noticed it was different from the other side.
As I had my coffee & gazed over my cubs I realized that I've now had my first cub(109) since Aug 2003 & still have not seen or heard in person another cub. Thanks to Charlies videos I can hear what another cub sounds like but crave to see some in person.

Big Steve just bought a new hydro...a BIG one!!!!

1979, "3 lever" 1460 with around 4K hours and some updates, including the cross flow fan.

Came with a 17.5 foot 820 platform, cable control.

Not a new one by any means, but for the $$$$$ is was a great deal....payback vs. renting a machine like we've done in the past is under 3 years.....

Got the Original's problem solved. Ain't nothing a new condenser, proper adjustment of points, a little bit of cleaner and a couple of good friends can't solve, and now she purrs like a Cub again. Got it done just in time for the annual Saufen Und Speil festival in town. Unfortunately the parties that be who put together the parade that goes through town decided that the parade was too long. They decided to not let the two local tractor clubs run anything in the parade this year

, this was in order to shorten up the parade a little bit. So, we did not get to run in the parade but we still had about 20 tractors show up at the end of the line where there is all the food and drinks, and we had a miniature tractor show. Had the 125 and the original, my buddies also had a Bolens 1220 and a Case 210 there. There were not too many happy people between the two clubs, so next year I don't think that we will have the same problem again.

Also try adjusting your float as per the manual. If it moves up too far it won't seal the needle and seat. Take off the carb and turn it upside down with the bowl off. The float should be level or so the free end is slightly slanted up (which is down when the carb is right side up.) Hope that's not confusing, I'll clarify that if I need to.

Check that your float doesn't have a hole in it. Doesn't take much gas in the float to cause it to release pressure on the needle.

I recognize those rims because when I was younger, say, around 10 or so, I remember my dad driving his 110 JD and watching those two little holes go 'round and 'round and 'round and....

He traded that in on the 149 I now have...

Here are some pics of the axle bolt set-up on my 149. I thought that the bolt had to be turned down to clear the oil pan, but not so. It has to clear the mule drive. Notice the roll pin to keep the nut in place.. (Kraig, feel free to put these in your archives)

Hack saw to shorten the drive shaft AFTER you take it out and some wrenches to remove and re-install is about ya need.

Steve B Nice clean looking machine! Sure looks funny as a flatlander. We got the 1470 with self leveling out here. makes them a lot taller.
Now if you can find a cab for an old 453 or so they make a great school bus hut for the boy

Here is a problem I had on my 1650, thought I had seen them all but this one blew right by me. I think it started last year but I never caught on. This year sometime this spring I thought to my self this engine just doesn't seem to have the bark it used to, but it started good and ran good so I dismissed it. I am running a 44A mower deck and that is not much of a load for a 16hp. When summer hit in full and the grass started to get really thick it seemed to bog the engine down some so I began to think I better put a tack on this engine and probably increase the rpm's some, I'm pretty conservative on the top rpm setting anyway. However I never got around to putting a tack on it.

One day recently I smelled gas in the morning when I went into the garage, found the 1650 gas tank had a small leak. When I replaced the tank I found that the gas line from the tank to the carb had hardened, shrunk, or moved just enough to stop the full rotation of the throttle linkage. I suspect it had done it slowly over time so I never saw a big change at one time. Once I replaced the gas line the engine had its bark back and acted like a 16hp should.

Thats probably a good example why you need to do your own trouble shooting. Nobody could have told me what the problem was over the internet.

Can someone help with my healight switch. The switch that pulls out to activate my headlights on my 70 seems to be frozen, I try to pull it and it won't budge? Any suggestions from the group? Thank YOU

Have you tried spraying it with PB Blaster or Kroil to loosen things up a bit first?
