Guys I want to charge two 6 volt batteries .Do I connect them up pos to neg with a jumper and connect my 12 volt charger to a pos and neg and use the 12 volt charger?

Donald, In order to get 12 volts out of two 6 volt batteries, you have to hook them in series, + to - but I have never tried to charge them this way..I guess in theory you could..

doesnt your charger have a 6 volt 15amp option? mine has several options on a dial kind of thing.

Donald, A fully charged wet cell battery puts out 2.2 V per cell..If you could take the top off the battery, you could see each cell is connected in series, + to - and starts with - and ends with +. So a 6V battery is actually 6.6V and a 12V battery is actually 13.2V By connecting a wire from + on one battery to - on the other, you will continue the + to - connection and end up with + on one battery and - on the other..This is how you get 24V out of two 12V batteries, As in heavy equipment..

Don Yes jump + to minus gets 12V, than on the other posts + & minus to the charger, ready for a 12V charge.
