Ryan - yea I'm a bit jealous of your collection of Cub Cadets... Your input is important to all of us.

Thank you Charlie, Kraig, sponsors and all others who make this site happen! I look and lurk here every day, sometime several times during the day!

I'm much like Bill J's signature - I have way more questions than answers!

Here's a pic of most of my "rare" collection. I say rare because I drive 18 miles each way to work and back and I see NONE of these in the yards I pass.

Dennis: You are right, of course about the governor hookup.. I did do a number of Mik's on Cushman Husky's, including a Truckster with foot and manual throttle together, but I'll probably stick with a Carter. Whatever happened to the small engine fuel injection setup that guy here in MI was pushing? I know they're putting it on all sizes of motorcycles, hmmmm maybe that'd be an option, too. I know the eccentric locking bearing is a problem, but I've got sources to check. If that crank is induction hardened, I hate to grind a 16th off of it.. For that matter, I might just look at electric PTO's - gotta believe except for expense that might be easier...

I just reread the posts from last night - I am also thankful for the opportunity to use this forum - I joined sometime early in '99 and although there's been a couple of lapses, I always get drawn back.... Some of the newer members may not realize it, but this forum has always been "self correcting", hopefully not in a nasty way, but also leaving most of that to the members, not the Admins.... I know that Charlie hates to step in and obviously he felt compelled to do that yesterday. For that, if some of my comments (although I stand by the intent of them) seemed rude, I apologize to all...

gosh, I have been reading along and via personal conversations, I do know that it does hurt Ryan Mc. feelings and he does feel disrespected because of his age ( 21) and that others don't take him seriously. I can atest to his knowledge and his willingness to share what he does know, and also to learn what he doesn't.!

In all fairness I am prejudiced, but I can sit back and read and not be so. Ryan has spent afternoons and some long hours out here working on his cubbies during the week when Marlin is at work, so he really can work on his cubbies, or marlins and troubleshoot, and get them running all on his own. lol.

I just wanted to add my few cents to this as I do know that the ongoing feelings of frustration for just wanting to be respected here does haunt him, and anger him I suppose, but I think the anger is more frustration. Ya know, he grew up on a farm, so with that dedication to work that has to be done if you want to or not, and his own strong work ethic, I would hope everyone would offer respect for his background and his present path. We each teach our own children wisdom so they can grow, and I would hope if Ryan or anyone has a question here, it would be answered with respect. That's what you are all here for, right?

Ryan has been such a joy to get to know and to watch him work and collect his collection of CC's has been great fun. The saga continues. How many will the guy end up with? lmbo...He's also on the politest young ones I've met in a long while. Last week-end when he was out, he forgot to say thanks for lunch.! Oh good grief, all heck was going to break loose.!! NOT really. He actually realized his inpolite manners, as he says, and wrote an email, expressing his gratitude and sorry for such bad manners. I wrote him back and said, Hey, I know you appreciate eating...so no problem.!! hahaha...

so as everyone has shown me respect, I hope you will all embrace Ryan for his knowledge and willingness to learn along this path we share with our little CC's.

I wasn't aware of the issue with Ryan until last night, and didn't realize his "youth" (compared to us old farts). I am amazed at the extent of his commitment to our hobby (mania) and am concerned that we might lose any of the younger generation.. I know that we have lost a few youngsters, but also have held onto some - Matt Gonitzke is a shining example.... Stick with us Ryan !!

OK I have a question - if a guy needed to replace the 10hp in his 1000, would a 16hp from a 1650 fit easily?

Or if a guy wanted to take the 10hp from the 1000 and put into the 1650, what issues would he encounter?

Vince T.
Both scenarios you suggest would work just fine.

BTW, Thank you for hauling my new boat anchor I got from Art over to Montrose the last weekend.
