Steve,
With 2" of back space I still have About an 1 1/4" of clearance to the inner fender. But what I would like to know is the OEM spec. back space for a QL tractor?

CHARLIE - I'm here to DERAIL the forum again.

For those who have never been around those Midwest dump hoists, that toggle REALLY makes a huge difference. I knew Steve B posted pic's of his FARMALL 656 pulling that wagon before and was pretty sure it would have had a Midwest hoist.

Our old '39 Farmall H would lift Dad's old wagons loaded with ear corn or whatever at an idle with the IH Lift-All belly pump, not sure if it was still the stock 500-600 PSI or if it had been upgraded to the 850 PSI design. When he got the new B-I-G flare box he bought a different brand of hoist that used two smaller cylinders side-by-side so it could straddle the center reach of the wagon gear and lower the whole box so it could sit on the wagon gear. We used the old '39 H for one more year hauling in corn with that wagon and granted the loads of corn were bigger but without that toggle designed into the hoist it would NOT raise the wagon until we had already unloaded as much corn as would run out of the wagon box. Even the next years using the Super H with the higher pressure live engine-driven pump we couldn't raise the box until we unloaded some corn. When we'd use the older wagons w/Midwest hoists it would raise them easily.

BACK on topic to our reglarly scheduled forum conversations....

DON T. - Allen gives good advice, start with smaller loads in your new dump cart to see what it can handle. I notice my dump cart box shifts forward & back slightly with really heavy loads.

CLINT - Not positive but I think your asking about the pivot on the kinda three-sided plate with the "T" shaped slot cut thru it correct?
I'd start with the Nylatron material to make the bushing. I'd also try to get ALL the side motion out of those plates too, maybe try to get something slippery between the plates too, I've used cut-up oil & milk jugs for thrust bearings with good success, It's all HDPE plastic, recycle code #2. And keeping everything dry and free of oil will keep them cleaner.

Scott R., did you get the PTO on your 71 figured out? Here's some info from the service manual. Not the cutaway view of the PTO. If the center button is pushed back too far the back side of it can hit the engine crank shaft, which could cause sparks and/or prevent the PTO from stopping.
