Correct,

VW, well their parent company now owns Navistar. Navistar retains the rights to all the light line stuff. The the only thing sold in 85 to J. I. Case (Tennaco) what the IH AG division, the International Harvester name and the IH “Man on a Tractor” logo. That is why the name was changed to Navistar. Navistar was technically that original company founded back in the early 1900’s.

Tenneco Inc. purchased AG division IH (offer was made in Nov of '84) and merged it with the company they owned JI Case to form CaseIH. I was a Case dealer employee at the time. A good reference to the down fall of Harvestor is the book "A Corp Tragedy, The Agony of International Harvestor Co." by Barbara Marsh. The first 2/3rds of the book is about the old McCormick things, the last 1/3rd goes into the down fall. We where lucky enough to become the local Case IH dealer with multiple branches. I retired from that dealer in Dec of 2022 after working for them for 43 years.
