Scott R., is it possible that you have the PTO installed too far onto the crank? If so, when you disengage it the back side of the PTO might be hitting the crank, causing it to keep spinning.

Typically there should be about 1/4" or less between the PTO button and the fiber button on the PTO engagement lever when the PTO is engaged.
 
Does anyone have a photo of a cub cadet cig lighter?
especially the part you light it with.

Update:
Some of you may remember a discussion of my 11-year old daughter and I attending a local Plow Day earlier this spring. My daughter had never plowed with a Cub before, so I let her hop on the 100 and take to the furrow while we were there. I thought it would be a short trip, but it turns out that she had a blast.

As you can see, I had to give up the plow from the Plow Special as it was the only sleeve-hitch plow I owned at the time. I didn't mind though...anything for my "Little Buddy"..

During the ride home, she politely asked if we could paint one of the Cubs pink.

I love my daughter, but my response was, "I don't think so!" along with a very stern look. Feeling the need to give her a part in all of this "Plow Day" interest, I later bought a used Brinly plow from a good friend for her to use.

After removing the old paint and repainting it, I "did it up" with some custom decals from a local decal shop. She helped put some of them in the "right" place...

She's proud of the finished product, and hopefully doesn't want to paint any of the Cubs PINK anymore!

The "LB" stands for "Little Buddy" as that is my nick-name for her. I'm hoping this "new" plow fires up her interest in the tractor-hobby.

Customizing a plow is a nice easy project to get your kids involved, so break out the spray-paint and clean up those plows!

Such a nice day here that I will wrap my new Cub storage building. Time to get ready for snow season.Welder will be installing a lift hyd cylinder on my trailer on Monday.Now I also have to replace the belt for the pump on my loader.

I’m intrigued with these screw type log splitters that run off a Cub Cadet like Digger posted. Anyone know where I can get one?

Beautiful job on that Kohler! As for the head, I recommend bead blasting it. This results in a nice, satin finish that dissipates heat well.

I have a rear tire (23 x 12 x 8.50)that needs a tube. I called the local Firestone dealer but they said they can't do it because their machine can't handle that small of rim. I tried other tire stores but nobody else was open since it's Sunday. Where do you guys have your tires mounted? Do you do it yourself?
 
KEVIN C. - I'm like MATT, mount my own tires. BUT, I suspect you contacted a Firestone car/truck tire dealer. Look for someone who handles & installs TRACTOR tires or construction equip. tires. They won't try to mount the tire on a machine, which the person you talked to is correct, won't handle the small 8" & 12" wheels/tires.

Funny, but true, the IH FARMALL plant I worked at had two HUGE versions of the tire machines car/truck tires are mounted with that would mount the 30, 32, 34, & 38" rim diameter tires FARMALL used back in the day. Pretty sure the same machines would work on the 42", 46", & larger tires on today's tractors. The machines were so big, they were mounted in pits 8 feet deep.

Thanks Dave K., bead blast it will be. By the way the points slayer is way cool. Timing the engine will be simple and accurate with your device.

The friction disc for the PTO provided by CCC and proper for my tractor serial No. did not fit into the drive hub without a trip to the belt sander to take off some O.D.. The bearing provided to me teeters on .001-.002 thousands bigger that the OEM. That equals a pain in the butt to make fit. Anyone else ever have this problem with parts?

I remember the friction disc being a very tight fit in the basket pulley on the 100 I re-did last summer, but I just thought it was because I had a lot of paint on the inside of the basket pulley. I've never bought a PTO bearing from CC...They're cheapest through a bearing supply store.
 
I just got done putting hyd. lift on my 100 cub and I went ahead and put in a new clutch and I had to put in a new driveshaft.I got everything put back in and the 1st pressure plate was rubbing into the clutch fork so I ajusted it until it got away from it but I don't have any free travel in the clutch pedal will this be alright until it gets some wear on it?Thanks,Joey.
