Don, you have a QA42, it's for a narrow frame, it won't fit a 149, for that you'd need a QA42A.

There is a problem with the rear mount on that thrower.I could then put it on my 125 or 147 or 100 then. There is a piece missing (cut off) that I need to make original. If you have a picture of the back of the thrower it might help a lot for me. thanks Don T

I have just picked up this cub cadet original with what is believe to be an early creeper gear on it. Caon anyone tell me what the stick is and what it is worth.
Thanks
Steve

Over in the sand box under the heading My parts haul , the second picture will show where the po cut the lift arm off. I I knew what this bracket length was I might be able to use that . thanks for your help.

Thanks now I can go from there and get this blower back to working. I would like to have some fun with it. The 125 will soon run and that thrower would help break in the rebore . I will have to take it for a spin now.

Lucas Jones,

The Carlisle tires work great.
The exhaust setup is relatively simple. I used 1-1/2" thinwall conduit for the pipe to keep it as light as possible so there wouldn't be a need for any bracing. A trip to the local auto shop solved the bend issue. The conduit slips perfectly over the end of the muffler. The top was cut flush so a rain cap could be installed. You can see the rain cap raised in the first photo as the 128 is idling. A small slit cut in the lower end allowed the pipe to be drawn up on the muffler with a clamp without wrinkling the pipe. Black high heat resistant paint was also used. I like this a little better than chrome, since chrome will discolor when heated. The pipe is not as high as it looks in the pics. It is only 24" above the top of the hood. Compare that to the 23" rear tires. The total length of the pipe from the muffler to the rain cap is about 37 inches.

Lucas-

That keeps the throwout arm from touching the bearing when it should not be. Don't leave it out.

Scott Niclas, thanks, I see now the instructions are for all wide frames and quiet lines.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!
Spend quality time with family and friends!
After your big dinner go out and do some exercises with mans best friend your I.H.CUB CADET and enjoy.

LUCAS - I agree with MATT G., you can run your CC a little while without that spring but it will wear the bearing (#3) and clutch lever (#10) more with that spring missing. I think you should be able to get the spring in there without removing the engine or clutch. Just be thankful it wasn't the teaser spring, #4.

Back the adjusting nut #12 all the way off & remove, depress the clutch and see if the pull rod (#11) pulls clear of the lever (#10). You may have to pull the rod (#11) off the arm (#15) to install the spring.

Matt, Denis, when I had the tractor split for the brake rebuild I took the clutch out,and forgot the put #13 back in, it seams like a very week spring how stong should it be? How bad is it if the teaser spring is shattered?

Marty thanks for the pics.

Hello All and Happy Thanksgiving. I haven't posted before, just lurk and enjoy all the banter/GREAT info that goes on here. I have a CC 108 with 48" deck that has been a part of my life for close to fifteen years now. Really enjoy mowing with it and have recently purchased a 3000# HF winch to help with future implements. Anyway, everyone have a wonderful and safe day.}}
