It looks to me like that welded on bracket is just welded over the top of the original.I did basically the same to mine except I just pinned it.I extended mine about 6 to 8 inches and it still takes two hands to lift it.
Plow on the 100, showthrower on it as well - not fun to raise and lower. Not horrible, but you knew it was there.I agree with taking 2 hands to lift. I quit using the blower on my 682 because of the weight. I even added the lift assist spring which only helped a little bit. Anyone else have the same problem?????
Steve, if you torch that off you'll have to weld something else on in it's place. Not sure why the PO cut off the original lift bracket and welded a replacement on in the same place, other than the replacement appears longer which would make it easier to lift but might limit the lift height.
