Tristan:
Or you could try this ....a pair of H4703 headlight bulbs like an 88 (4 headlight)Chevrolet pickup had,
Sabre saw, drill and a simple spring retainer on the back..

Why would you want to change the BEST looking face IH made??

TRISTAN - I know Steve Blunier (Mr. PLOW) has added lights to several CC's without lights. I can't believe those posts aren't in the FAQ's. Maybe someone (Kraig?) saved the pic's. Besides the light sealed beams, a switch, and some other hardware just labor was involved, the wires should already be in the wire harness of Your 129, the wire should be light purple.

Kendell,

Denny, I don't recall Steve ever posting a How-to on lights???

Window kitty (Snappy) has never, ever, in her life been happy..... (well maybe that one time with the jar of catnip, but she wouldn't admit it..)

KRAIG - It was "ATBC" (after the big crash) I didn't find this forum until then. I know He used OEM sealed beams but not the diecast sealed beam holder rings that support them, or something like that. I printed the pic's He posted out, pretty sure it was on His 129 He had @ PD #1, also positive I couldn't find the pic's I printed in the shop. I was going to add sealed beams to the 72 to replace the $5/each backup lights from Farm & Fleet that I have for headlights on it now.
Real similar to what Kendell did, just round, not rectangular.

Denny, ok with that extra bit of info I found this:

For all you guys looking for cheap headlight installations, this is what came on the 129. All it takes is a holesaw, and quiet line headlight rings. <!-/quote-!>

Travis,

Nice 129!!! Even nicer without the armstrong lift!!!

I use the AL headlight clamping rings (still avaiable from MTD) for headlight installs. Never even thought of the rubber boot style. What size holes are those? 4"?<!-/quote-!>

On mine, I cut the hole in the plate the size of the face of the bulb, ahead of the retainer shoulder that is cast into the bulb. A piece of heavy wire and a spring looped between the two bulb connections holds the bulb in..

And the bulbs are cheap!

Kendell, nice simple installation! Is the other end of that wire just hooked through a hole in the flange in the plate?
