I've never seen the version of seat that Charlie has pictured. We did find the steel seat that came on a parts 102 that I sold about three years ago.

Lew - ya, you're right.

Now, about the correct seat for a 122, I've seen alot of 122, 123, 124 and 125 seats and they were all the same - and none looked like the one Charlie posted. Just like Doug A said, none had those leg indents.

The rubber seat talk reminded me that I have this one. Maybe an optional seat for the single spring 72 or 73 models?

Paul T., that is the seat for the 102, the only model it came standard on.

I'm guessing that the seat in the brochure photo that Charlie posted is a prototype and not a production seat. The production version likely got simplified to cut cost.

Can anyone help with identifying these wheel weights? They weigh about 50 pounds each. No markings are visible although I haven't removed the multiple coats of paint yet. I plan to use them on my plowing 100 instead of doubling up the Cub Cadet weights.

Kraig: The rubber seat mounted with a single bolt on a spring like the metal pan seats on the Originals. It was on a 72 I parted out.

Harry,
Seems like the guy wanted to start a bidding war so I bailed.
Here is a seat I have,it does have the indention's for the legs except it does not have one for the middle one...

It is very likely that the 122 123 literature shot used a pre-production seat (possibly even a prototype) since the advertising dept. was often months ahead of the release of a new product (to have advertising materials available right away).

Prototype seat could have easily been sent out for bid to several manufacturers and the final bidder omitted the leg relief.

I have never seen one like that either, but if it exists, it was surely on a very early production unit!!!!

hi iam putting the hi speed deck pully on my 129 with a 44a deck. what drive belt do I need?

Perhaps the 122 rubber seat is French. I found this French Cub Cadet brochure picture and the 122 has the same leg indentations like Charlie posted.

Paul T., I believe that's how it was mounted onto the 102 that I used to own, (now owned by forum member Craig Carney) there was I believe an adapter of sorts to mount it onto the 102. If you had a 72 with that style seat, a PO added it. I do not believe it was ever offered as an option but back in the day it could have been purchased as a replacement part. BTW, do you have a higher resolution version of that French brochure?

Craig C., can you verify if the original 102 seat mounts with a single bolt?

Kraig: Nothing much better resolution, but I emailed you a copy of my original file. The black upholstered seat on the 72 does exist.

Paul T, Your seat bottom (steel part looks like my steel part. I really need to mow lawn tonight however I will try and get a couple of pictures this afternoon. Maybe it was meant for overseas production Cub Cadets.

Hi All,

Well got a chance to open up the 149 I purchased 2 Weeks ago. Figured I'd have the Normal Repair issues that a 40+ yr old Tractor would Have w/ just moderate maintenance to keep it running.
So after a good Bath though I'd Tackle the Hydro Trunion Spring Repair First.
I used a Small piece of Stainless and welded in Place, the Low 30amps of tig welding should not of transferred any heat into spring. I used a spray bottle to cool the Bracket after each weld, and added a washer on each side of spring assembly to account for any spring retention lose.
Anyway here are some before & after pics,

Also not sure of the Correct terminology, maybe someone here can Clarify the Correct part, but the "Mule drive upper frame support" is worn to about an 3/32" thick, Had to Fabricate a new Piece, Luckily I had some 1/4" X 1" Flat laying around.

Jason - nice pics and descriptions of your hydro repairs. I assume you didn't have the "marks it spot" pump mount leaky gasket issue, so you took a couple short cuts with your trunion repair. I'm sure we're all wondering how it worked out - how the hydro operates once back together. Whether you get any jumping in the controls, etc.

Also nice job on repairing the fork on the sub-frame for the mowing deck. I see what looks like part of a pretty decent 44A/50A deck in the last pic. That might be a nice find on it's own.
