Great...

I've got a serial number, now if Charlie would just give me the REST of the numbers off his tractor, we'd have another 169 added to the list!

Donald - looks like we're on the same page today! Bronze bushings look sorta ok and pad looks fine - bout 3/8 in. left. Not sure how much is supposed to be there but looks like plenty to me. Seals didn't survive! Them jokers fought me hard! And, hope you remember how the brakes go back together because I don't. One pin was broken and laying in housing and forgot already which direction the big pin with the clip on it slides back in. Oh well, I'll fight that battle another day. Not a hard job but pretty nasty actually. And I thought I had all the fluid out - WRONG.

Show & tell:

My Cub compressor

Anyone have a clue what this thing goes to?

Came with Original - any ideas what they're off of?

Terry,
If you asking about the headlights, yes, in fact HELL yes. They are from the Original!

Charlie - ge I thought I had original head lights here for my 61 o. The ones you posted are verry different than what I have

Terry- the flat plate under the light is not correct.for the original; I bet those were back up or rear view lights that sit on one fender ?

Terry Davis

I can help when you put that Original back together with the brakes.I had a little wear on the bronze bushing, So I heated the case and spun the bearing lol. There is no way I would ever use the Cub enuf to create the wear I found and spinning the bushing will make the wear run on new area ,like new again .

Got the infamous cork gasket replaced on my 169. Repair went pretty well.
Art I'll get those numbers emailed to you.

On the lights - as far as I could guess the prior guy just stuck these lights on at some point. I was just curious if anyone happened to know what they might have come off of just for curiosities sake. When I first saw the tractor I thought I got lucky but quickly realized I was wrong. Thanks guys and good luck with that other odd-ball piece.

Donald - hadn't thought about spinning those bushings - did you just heat up the bushing? All I have is a propane torch. How were you able to get hold of the bushing to spin it?

Charlie,

Glad you got the pictures figured out,, nice cub

Terry,

That is a Mighty Fine looking air compressor that you have! I knew IH made milking equipment, cream seperators, refrigerators, freezers and room air conditioners. (I never have seen a range) I know they also produced, or marketed, a few hand tools. But I have never seen an IH air compressor, especially in the Cub Cadet line! Nice job with it.

Brian - would love to take credit for the compressor but it was actually a birthday present from my son-in-law last year. It's an old C-Air that he repainted. Was going to offer it to Charlie as a RARE NOS IH Compressor but was afraid he'd jump on it or lowball the crap out of me.

Jeff - your guess is as good as mine on the guard/scrap metal. I bot the 122 for creeper and hitch as engine was supposedly locked up. Turns out all it was was the pto pulley was stuck on the bolt that holds the s/g bracket on the block. Took the pulley off and she spun right over! Tight little original tractor - def. a keeper. Just added lights and new hood, wiring harness, grote light and gonna be a good little worker.

Look out, Terry is gonna be dangerous now that he knows how to post pics! B tw, your wife wants her cookie sheet back in the kitchen, and wash all the gear oil off this time!!
