Maybe when they "FIXED" that leaky relief valve they figured they would go ahead and "FIX" whatever trouble they were having with the trunion cam assembly,

Jason, nice progress! And suddenly I'm hungry...

Jason W. IF the 1250 rear end did indeed have gear lube instead of hydraulic/transmission oil in it the you can pretty well figure the 15 U is done for and needs a total rebuild which isn't worth the time or $$$. A retired engineer bought a 317 John Deere years ago that he got a great deal on. He started using it and after the hydro warmed up it bogged down to hardly moving. Even though he changed the oil to the correct oil it never did work right. So, I'd find another pump and go that route. The thicker oil jut does a number on everything inside from springs to pistons, etc.

I know of two good used pumps but just never seem to have the time to get them. Or the energy anymore.

Marlin H.

Yeah, it was Definitely Gear Oil, I did however bolt my original known working good condition 149 Pump onto the 1250 Rear w/ new Cork. I can only assume that may very well be why the 1250 was listed as a Parts Tractor!

Took long break for BrKfst. Just got back at it. Got brake linkage w/ spring done, Trunion cam assembly done, rear Lift done, hydro lines and drive shaft back together, now another lil break before I start on fender pan!

Whew!!!

Thanks Again everyone,

Well just couldn't help myself, like a kid in a candy store. I "HAD" to spray a little something on it before that pan went on!

LoL

305831.jpg

Well I'm Way WAY Behind schedule now!

Guess I might clean shop, give that paint time to tack before I bolt pan to it.

For some reason I had it in my head that I might have been able to finish by day break!

Hmmmm.
1a_scratchhead.gif

Seems everything I do here lately take's much longer than I think it will,,,

I think it's maybe old age just setting in REAL GOOD on me!!

Ugh!!!

Jason - you're moving along at lightnin' speed. You had mentioned thinking about using heat on the pan but I don't see any signs of it. What did you use?

Hofstadter's Law: It always takes longer than you expect, even when you take into account Hofstadter's Law.

Jason, filled hytran to proper level? Look at linkage under dash too. Take a break, you definitely deserve one!!
Nice job! You bought parts 1250 for that, parts. Now with finding gear lube...

I have taken a hydro out once and put right back in same tractor, slight adjustment of linkage necessary, but only slightly. It worked better than before removal.

I have an obvious question to some, half inch by 79 inch belt for PTO to mower on 1450 with 44a deck right?
