If the shifter is broke or cracked, here's what to look for.

I can't find the shifter forks broke/bent, but you'll see it if they are.

Charlie-

I've got a shifter that's broken off way up inside that cup. Is that fixable?

And to add to what you said to Len, it will be very obvious if it's broken way up there, the shifter just spins.

Matt G,
Yea they are fixable, BUT,
Personally I would not waste my time fixin one, there's to many guys out there with spares layin around that can be bought cheaper than your time and money to fix yours. The sponsors above prolly all have a few layin around and if not, I'm sure you'll be gettin emails wantin to sell ya one after this post, grin

While we're talkin trannies, my 126 pops out also. It'll come out of second for sure and mebbe all gears. Creeper also pops to Neutral (which isn't supposed to exist). Could the two be related or definitely seperate issues?

Thanks

Jim K,
I know that my 100 used to pop out of second and I had a bent fork, took it out, pressed it flat and it worked fine. Dunno about the creeper thingy, sorry.

This is my first post here.

Hello to everyone on this IH Cub Cadet site/board.

Thanks to Charlie for the personal invite!

Thanks Digger!

I'm nose down the hill in 1st when it jumps out, but fortunately I just did a brake job so I've been able to wrestle it into submission without going over the edge!

Hopefully it's just the lever pivot and I'll fry that back together quickly.

HI Bill! Welcome!
Thanks Digger. I'm gonna have to do something pretty soon. My seat can't take the pucker factor of too many more times popping out

Wyatt,
Check out this page http://www.lefthanderchassis.com/pdf/Ch6-6.pdf
Go down about a third of the way. Right by the number 175 in a big blue box are some oil coolers geared to the auto racer. It's page 11 of 37 of the page that opens in acro reader.

All,
Anyone interested in pics of #261 as it was in Rock Island Friday evening?

#261 is impressive.

Wild Bill!
Welcome to the dark side, grin

Len C,
Better visit one of the sponsors above and get ya some good manuals and fix that sucker before you take a ride on the wild side!!!!

Jim K,
YOU TOO! LOL
I'll betcha it pops out of reverse too don't it!

I think it does come out of reverse too, Digger. It seems to kinda come and go. It'll work fine for a mowing or two and then pop out several times the next time out. Makes for some hairy rides. brakes aren't what they once were. I think I need to readjust them and the clutch since the repower.

Eugene!

261 rolled by here this morning at 9:25ish, and back at about 3:40... moving along very nicely, and without the rumble of 12 to 16 big pistons making in excess of 15:1 compression, it was much quieter than diesels. Nick and I stood along the right-of-way in my back yard, and the engineer gave us a toot-toot and a wave as they lumbered past.

DK :)

I still like this one....

Just back for Red Power......good weekend!!!!!

I put a whole bunch of pics on the RPRU board.

Now it's bed time!!!!! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Haven't got a chance to get to the parts yard to find an oil cooler, shouldn't have said anything on what I'm doing until I found the appropriate fix.

Eugene-
Problem with all the oil coolers from Lefthander, Coleman, Behling, Pegasus and then the bigger Summitt, Jegs, etc is that most all aftermarket coolers are big, as in usually minimum of about 10-11 inches wide, not only are they overkill but won't fit either. Still trying to find one from an OEM automotive application.

WYATT - The drinking fountains I used to Buy parts for had a tube/fin cooler that is just about the size Your looking for. Tubes were only 3/8" however. I bet a P/S cooler of a 1-ton or little larger truck would be about the right size & shape.

STEVE - Thanks for the Pics of RPRU. Looks like Little Steve enjoyed the show! What a TERRIBLE thing to do to a nice 400, Bury it under a 2M-H picker! Nice paint job on the picker though. That 560-G WFE with the chisel plow belongs to one of the RPM Forum regulars. WILSON GATEWOOD have anything there that You saw? He gave Me an autographed DuPont calendar a year ago with His PERFECT 1468 in it.

Digger,

I've got all the manuals on these tractors and then some!

Hydro Harry was kind enough to pass along what he had with the 122 and I've been to Binder more than once, but none of my resources said "from years of experience, here's the most likely problem."

That's where you folks come in and I must say this site has been a source of solutions for many a head scratcher over the past...hoooboy...5 years I think!

Denny-
Was a 1468 really available with round Wheatland fenders? I saw one on the tractor ride but sorta thought that it was just a fender swap.

a few pics from Red Power sat was a perfect day to be there

Just like to say thanks to the moderators for providing the space for the Red Power pictures, and everybody that posts their pictures. I thought that this would be the year I could attend one of the Roundups but fate didn't look my way, maybe another year. In the meantime I will have to be content to view it through the pictures. If you can post any comments or names with the pictures it is very helpful. I'm starting to recognize some faces but having never attednded a Plow day or Roundup I haven't had the opportunity to meet a lot of people I have wanted too.
