Beth, here is a parts drawing of the rear lift parts. Your 1650 should have the drawbar (item #7) but you will need the rest of the parts for the lift.

Rick:
You really should be posting that in the area for CCC/MTD machines here...

Kraig,

That was really helpful. And son, who will be doing the work, could see how it all fits with the mower.

Now to buy those parts, what do I call it - 3 point hitch, 3 point lift kit, sleeve hitch? Or do you know what the part number is so I can search that way?

Thanks for your help!

Beth, if you post a want add in the classifieds on this website for a 3-point rear lift hitch for a Cub Cadet 1650, most of the sellers should know what you are referring to. A "Sleeve Hitch Adapter" would connect up to a Cub Cadet 3-point lift, and would be required to mount up Sleeve Hitch attachments such as a turning plow, disc, cultivator, grader blade and so on. The tiller does not require the Sleeve Hitch Adapter as the tiller (and most IH Cub Cadet branded rear attachments such as a #40 box blade or a Blade/Rake combo) have the mounts built in to connect directly up to the Cub Cadet 3-point. Might be a good idea to check some of the forum sponsors (buttons at the top of the page) to see if any of them have one. Unfortunately these are no longer being made (though some parts are being made as reproduction parts) so you will have to find a used one.

Kraig, would you (or any one else) know what models the sleeve hitch and bar I pictured before fit? Thanks

Yes Richard thanks. That lift bar just looked different than the one Kraig had posted and I don't know why that is. Maybe I should stick to the 70/100 and originals

Porter, it is for a wide frame, but I'm not sure if it's for a Quiet Line (model 800 through model 1650) or if it's for an 86, 1x8/9 series. I'm not sure which used that "Z" shaped lift bar. I think it's for a Quiet Line, but in this case what I think doesn't count... It might fit both the Quiet Line and 86, 1x8/9 series.

I'm a Narrow Frame Cub Cadet guy. Hopefully someone that knows for sure will post.

Porter,

That does not look like the one for the 1x8/9 or the Quietlines. The one in my dad's 149 and the one I just put in my 1450 has the bend in it like the parts diagram and the picture that Kraig posted. I am not sure what the zig bar is for... I do know it is not one for a 782 as it is a straight bar. It may work for a wideframe just takes a different path. The rockshaft casting and the little bracket with the bolts in it is definetly for a wideframe.

Are we supposed to feel sorry for you, or mock you because of this?!?!?

Porter-
I don't know, but I wish they would knock it off as the noise is deafening! LOL!

Kraig - I'm a narrow framer too, so you're not alone! Don't let those wideframers roll over you with their 10.5 wide tires.

About the only problem I have with cubs right now, narrow or wide, is that with the lack of rain up here, there isn't much to do with them!

I only like the yellow and white IH built Cub Cadets... all the other Cub Cadets IH built were junk.

Aaytay today the noise was the clutch in my original, reereeereeeweeeweeeweeewewebalalalunk! Who knows what it will be tommorow. Time to go to cc specialties and load up on parts

Porter. We're ok here in New Beige. I just learned of a CCO hiding in Acushnet. Hope to go check it out once I get home from Wilmington,DE. Darn work always getting in the way! Maybe in the near future we might hook up with Jim Chabot. Now that guy can put the fan in fanatic when it comes to CC's!!! He's even got a cool little museum!

Mike I think I passed on that cco you mention last october. Maybe he got the water out of it and running now and worth a look. Does it have non original lights, no fenders, creeper, and the larger wheels in back? If so

for that kinda money. Like 20 greenies in that yard and one cub, but he does have a johnson model 10 loader that he tried to sell me but I got spooked at what I saw down there.

Kraig;
FWIW; I took a 3-point setup out of a 1250 parts tractor and it fit perfectly in my 128!

Richard P.,
Some tractors are just destined to be parted out!
Sorry for your grief!
Bob.

To clear up the rear lift for that 73 I gangked, it did have that w/f lift mounted to it. I found some home engineered brackets in a mystery box and the frame had a few extra holes where it mounted. As far as the lift bar I can only assume it was bent to fit and operate similar to an original unless someone has seen one before for a different application.

That bent lift bar is for manual lift 82 series. I have one in the garage that is white.

When I got my 125 I remember that on the PTO clutch the PO had used two of the 3sided springs (one on top of the other).
Has anyone else tried this before?
I've been having some PTO problems and was wondering if this would give me better clutch pressure.
