Test Drive in Rain through wet grass, Trunion repair Success!
Setting speed control lever slight forward tractor will crawl up hill turn 180 and crawl back downhill without freewheeling so fast requiring a big oLe yank back of the speed lever so I don't run this thing in the brook!

I can now feel the trans/hydro fighting weight of tractor on a steep decline.

Hope that everyone is have a great weekend.
I have a question on a k301 ignition. If a coil or condenser is bad or going bad will it cause the engine to lose power and bog down, or will it just stop and/or not start. Mine worked great for a while and now it will run for about 15 to 20 minutes and start to lose power and finally bog down. I am thinking coil or condenser. My condenser is new but they can go bad.
Any comments appreciated
Earl

Earl: "Starts to lose power and finally bogs down". And it's not a fuel problem? Head gasket's OK? Heat seems to bring out the worst in a 12V coil - is it too hot to touch when the engine gets to the point that it's not playing fair? Have you seen this?

I have a comment about Jason's posts about the 1250 vs 149 rear driveshaft couplers. When I took my 1000 apart to replace the clutch I compared it to the WF tractor design. It would seem to me that the ball is in the QL coupler to stop backward motion of the driveshaft. This is really important on a 1000/1200. The WF tractors had pinned couplers. The pin would prevent the driveshaft from moving when the clutch was in. The QL has a rag joint that would allow the driveshaft to move toward the rear when the operator depressed the clutch. My 1450 has the same coupler with a ball. I thought that the probably used the same coupler for the hydro models and kept the ball as part of the assembly.

Is this correct? I am not sure how a ball would help center a driveshaft. Besides, I thought that's what the self-centering spherical bushings were for.

Thank you for the time you take to share with us.

Jeff B.

I don't like to argue with you as I think you know what your talking about. But, you said

"Jason, you can't mount the gear shifter on a hydro"

I would bet if anyone could figure out how to Get-R-Done.

Jason could.

I've not been quick to share some of my learnings.

Like the day I told my son
"Billy let me show you how to do that"
