Wayne, I am glad you got the chance to paint today. I broke down and got a sprayer in Dec. I thought with all the cold weather I would have plenty of time to read up on the best way the use it. But, it got 60 here to in the sun and guess who is no where near ready to paint. I also like the idea of using the closet wire thingy to paint on. Looks like that would be much better than my cardboard.

Tim-

I wish you were a little closer so I could give you a couple of these wire closet shelves. I got them off of a job a while back and they work well. Ideally, you need to get a rack of some sort and hang the parts. That way you can cover the whole part. The parts I used the wire shelf for only needed one side painted for now. I do have to do the other side, or top of the axle pictured.

Just get that sprayer out, thin the heck out of your paint, strain it and spray. It does take a little more planning without a paint room and the bugs.....

Good luck....Wayne

Wayne-

Mount that wire shelf thing a bit higher, and then you can hang all kinds of stuff from it to paint.

Thanks Myron. Those are the planters and tool bar I have, although mine are in pretty rough shape. I need to fab the attachment for the tractor. It's interesting that they lift with the 3-point, but they apparently bolt to the drawbar instead of using the Brinly type adapter for the sleeve hitch. Jerry

Morning guys, I`am out in my shop just sitting back
coffee.gif
and looking at my new to me running tractor.Dang the house computer bit the dust and I don`t know how much IH Cub Cadet stuff I lost. I will be taking it to town and see if it can be fixed

. It will take weeks to get all the manuals down loaded for all the Cubs, not to mention all the pictures. Well at least the confuser in the shop is still running.I have snow to plow here about another 6" overnight. Have a great Cub Day guys. later Don T

Kendell, Jeff, Todd - I just read the discussion on QA42 auger speed. Thanks for gettin' my Wednesday started with a chuckle!

Don T - I'm sure all your cub info will be "recoverable" from the hard drive. You may want to put all that important stuff onto a cd or dvd. Or buy an external hard drive and back up everything onto it.

(I wouldn't be so paranoid if everyone wasn't out to get me!)

Todd
That auger turns just about as fast as an Original in a shed can run in to something when it is started in gear and the clutch is stuck, and I think that is faster than Kendell can wind up extension cord...........

There was some discussion about how to start your cub cadet a week or two ago. I had problems with my 169 kicking back on the starter. It always started on the second revolution with full ckoke and throttle at idle. I went in and changed the tab on the camshaft so the exhaust valve opened more while cranking, and now it only starts at half or more throttle and full choke and several revolutions of the engine. This started me thinking so i lowered the tab on the cam of my 147 which always started with several revolutions, full choke, and 1/4 throttle. Now the 147 starts on the 3rd. revolution at idle and full choke. Does this make sense? I welcome coments.
Just my thoughts. Luther

I think I will be all right as I have a 180gb WD external back up drive in the fire wire port that I installed two years ago. this will be a good test to see if it realy works

.I guess I could take the drive out and slip into this confuser lol. Well I`am off to plow some snow as its about10" here now and its still snowing. Later Don T

Mike F., thanks.

I might have been the cause of the crooked furrow at the Weekend Freedom Machines 2003 Spring Tillage Day.

However, I was not the one that opened the ground. I was plowing with my AC 620 which has really sloppy steering, middle tractor in the second photo, right behind Charlie and in front of Steve B. I did one round with the AC 620 then parked it and started taking video and photos. Hard to believe that was almost 7 years ago already.

Charlie,
I have nothing else to say about the matter

.

Actually there wasn't any damage, the wheel blocks/bumpers thingys on the floor stopped it and stalled the engine just as the hood ornament touched the wall, but it happened faster than than I could react to shut it off to stop it..... You don't want to know what tractor it was
