Roy Morgan: Your 2084 is a CCC Series 3, 1993 to 1994. (I have Hank Will's Bible). There's a section here for that - MTD, CCC machines.

I got the auger out of my QA-42 snow thrower and removed all the rust from behind it and in the shoot. It's down to bare metal now. I used turtle wax to give it some protection from rust, and to make it nice and slick. I put it all together and WOW! I can toss wet chunky wet snow that's been sitting for a week over 20 feet! I can't wait for some new snowfall (don't tell my neighbors)

And at your suggestion Dennis I removed the brackets/gaurds!!It looks better without them. There had to be some purpose for these besides keeping the rear clean. They are quater inch plate with a couple mounting holes.bolted to the axel and front of the case with 4 bolts!!Now the bolts are a quarter inch to long and bottom out when I put them back in.Im going to get some shorter ones eventualy.

Thanks for the help Guys.

Minus 8 here in beautiful Colo, Iowa. I need to clear the neighbor's driveway only the wind would blow the snow back into my face. Ssooo... I'll wait until Saturday... It will at least be above zero. Snow is getting deep here also.

Jason D. Neat little 70. Those brackets almost look like someone put a lot of time into creating them.

Brandon M. Sweet little O. I notice though that you have two plows and one tractor. Now you need to find another Cub Cadet for that extra plow. Angel said that I can't get anymore plows... three is enough. She didn't say that someone couldn't give me another one though.

JASON - WOW, they didn't look like they were made from 1/4" thk steel when they were on the tractor but they sure do sitting there.
Everything back in that area of a CC 70 is built like a Battleship. But there must have been something where a prior owner was running that tractor that they thought they needed to protect the rearend. Actually, in looking at them....it's a good out-of-the-way place to hang extra weight. Maybe You should paint them up with the rest of the tractor and put them back on.

Anyhow, mailman stopped by with junk mail after the mailbox was dug out. Walked out to the shop, 24 or 25 deg. inside. Ran the heater for 15-20 minutes and got it up to 40. Still 4 Below outside with just a bit of a breeze. BRRRRRRR

Stopped in to say "HI"! I am bored and can do no cubbing...still. About 3 more weeks and I'll br back to askin questions!

One of the plows is for a 3 point, and has a booger welded non factory mount on it. I may fabricate a sleeve hitch mount for it. The smaller plow has had the front tooth broken and rewelded at a poor downward angle, and the hitch does not fit my sleeve hitch, so i have some work to do...

Kraig,
You could put that thermometer in my upright freezer to warm it up?

Can someone tell me if a IH snowthrower Model "H 42" will fit on my 127 cub. I gotta go 125 miles to get so would really like to know. Thanks, Rich

Jason D,

Those brackets sure don't look like any type of home-made brackets by a PO. Two thoughts come to mind, could your 70 be an early pre-production unit that had these different brackets installed to attach and support the front of the transmission to the frame or could those brackets be for some type of attachment, like a center mounted blade? Have you found a serial number tag anywhere on it? Just some thoughts, FWIW, Yada...etc.
