I was plowing some of the snow from our last "storm" and sonething just didnt seem right. There would be hardly any snow in front of the plow, but the tractor will just stop, sit, and spin. Idk, its hard to explain. none of it was frozen or anything, but it was like i was pushing snow 5 feet ahead of the plow(im putting into prospective what the tractor is acting like) but theres actually just a good 4 or 5 shovels worth....

RYAN G. - Like KENDELL says, real hard to find GOOD pipe fittings anymore, but I won't get on my LCC (low cost country) soapbox.
NPT taps are expensive, especially 1" and larger. Using a hacksaw, cut a couple shallow kerfs parallel with the centerline of the fitting You have and it will act as a tap to chase the rust out of the threads in the exh. port. Use lots of oil to lubricate the threads while doing this. Then your new, hopefully smaller fitting should thread in farther. It's also a good idea to use a "Conduit nut", as a lock nut on the exh. port to keep the first fitting from loosening, they're just a stamped piece with little ears on the OD You use with a screwdriver to tighten up to the face of the exh. port once the fitting is tight. They should be available in the electrical dept. of big box stores like Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, etc. as well as good hardware stores, 1" NPT is a "Standard size" for 1" elec. conduit, and they're cheap, less than a Buck.

Hey Marty
Glad to see the progress. I am currently restoring my 800 and 122. Hope to do my 86 and Original next. I'll try to get pictures to share. I find that once I get started it's much easier to keep going. I do two each time to make it easier (buying supplies, mixing paint and so on.)

Josh, how much of what did you drink before you went out to plow?

Picking up my 4th Cub tonite. I believe it to be one of Digger's favorite models. Anyone care to guess what it is?
