Hi guys. Wanted to let you all know my electric lift motor was not burned up. The small brushes went bad due to a broken load bearing. But after all your input and talking to dealers in the area. I was able to rebuild the lift with new brushes and a load bearing. The lift works awesome. The gears are in perfect shape, no missing teeth, rounded off corners, or pitting on them. The housing was filled with a heavy grease that was like mud tar. The dealership I work at had the load bearing up in the old parts room back when they sold farm tractors. But now they sell only tractor trailers now.
My friend is going to let his 149 go after buying a micro cub with a bucket & loader. I think I might have to pick it up because it has a hydo lift on it and he has weights, front blade, two sets of tires with chains on them. It would be my first wide front tractor. I could use some feedback on the 149 over a 147. Thanks, Brandon

Brandon, What else do they have in the old parts room?

Brandon K , the best thing is to have both a 147 and a 149 and even a 129. They are the best, hydro and lift, and have the snot to get it done again and again lol. I have 8 Cubs and there are lots here that have more and i can remember them all for a good day. cubs are great tractors and i STILL have to buy at least 1 D, just so i can say i have 1 lol, May i`am 57 and i bought new equipment at that time for years and this spring i will have that D.i have run out of( i need this for this job) to have 1 cub and keep it going and usefull and then pass it on is all i want to do, the guy that comes here and says that will do what ,i say here remember this one thing up fast down back . No brakes/ Later Don T

Brandon;
The 149 will be easier to work on than the 147.
Better access to the driveshaft/hydro area.
Notched frame on the 147 gets more "cool" points;IMHO!
