Denny,
I think it's the other way around. Carlisle bought Titan, and the others, rather than Titan buying Carlisle........but I could be wrong.

Just got my first Hydrostatic a 147

Don't know any history on it. The motor was freed and felt by hand turning to have compression. But for $60 with about a weeks worth of cut & dried firewood thrown in with the tractor I couldn't pass it up.
It doesn't have mow deck and seat. I would like to know information on what mow deck goes onto the 147 (#356240). I'm in the mountain of Colorado, so there are not many Cub Cadets around even down in Denver. I will have to look on-line. Any help appreciated.
I will also need to get a service manual for it. I saw one for Hydrostatic Transmissions but it did not include the 147 would it still be helpful or is there a differance. I also saw a service manual for the 147 but it just said chassis, engine & equipment. I would think it includes the transmission but don't know.
Thanks

Denny,
You could be right. I just thought that since they kept the Carlisle name and dropped Titan, that Carlisle was the buyer, and Titan the buyee?

GARY C.- hellow, if your looking for a service manual for your IH cub cadet 147....try IH BLUE RIBBON SERVICE manual. i picked up a manual at my local cub cadet dealer. they had to order it, though, and was about 25 bucks. a must have for your tractor. the folks on this fourm are very helpfull and have years of experience....i'am just a kid who prefers to be the student. but speaking of the rockies...i lived in libby, montanna for x amount of years and know about how the cub cadets are to find. people love'em out there.

Gary, welcome to our group. C C Specialties has seats and Binder Books has manuals...see their business cards above. Your also gonna need a Mule Drive assy on the front to get the belt to the deck when you find one. Look in the Buy and Sell section of the forum for people that have items you need. If you look in the Cub Cadet Parts site (above) you can get additional info on accessories for your 147. They're a fun tractor.

Charlie, maybe you dont have all the Cub accessories yet! Look in the background on one of Gary C.'s pictures. He has a Cub Cadet cement mixer. Maybe you can work a deal with Him.

Brendan, nice hoist set up. I had a rig like that for setting 500 gallon lp tanks. when we built it there braces put across the fram under the box and a peice of 3/8" diamond plate put on the entire box floor. After a few lifts I had the shop build an out rigger under the hoist off the frame. Even a super duty needed that with a thousand pounds five feet away from the truck and boy the truck was heavy (8000#) empty). I wish I could have kept the truck when I quit.

Charlie, thanks for the info on the tiller belt. For the life of me I cannot find info on the smaller one, 3/8" goes from the gearbox to the tiller. Thanks.

I'd like to build a Utility Wagon to tow behind my Cub Original. Does any one have any plans for one? I like 4 wheel wagons but 2 wheel plans will do also. I'd really like to make a mini Hay wagon.

I finally got into the garage across the street! Now I'm facing a dilema. Where do I start with the resto on the 104 after teardown? I thought I would ask and see where some of you who have done this would be able to give me some sort of general direction to take. This will be my first full restoration job and wasnt sure if I do the engine first or the rest of the tractor. Any tips would be greatly apprieciated!
Also, does anyone sell those brake pads for the internal brakes?
