question for somebody.............what cleans the moldy, mildewy black spots of a white rubber seat without destroying the rubber???

Michael C.
Simple green cleaned mine really well.
Also, any whitewall cleaner will work, but you have to watch it closer, as it's stronger than SG.

Left home at 7:30 this mornin to pick up a 1450 from Ed C in NJ. It's rare I get to meet any forum members due to me being in NY. Eds' good people just wish I had more time to hang out and chat more. Had to make another stop in Bainbridge and got home bout 6:45 tonight.
We decided to put my hoist setup to the test. Well..the hoist passed with flying colors. Not the same for the attaching point

As promised Ed..a cropped picture. See...Ed is a little camera shy... Ed, buy the way, that little hot dog joint is one busy place. No ducks today though but good eats.

The picture doesn't show it but the hoist was pulled over against the box side and 4 people sitting on the driver's side of the box and that side still looked lite. Amazing what 5' of leverage will do. Time for some plate steel bracing.

A plow turns a furrow.
A blade pushes/pulls dirt,snow, etc...
Allen S, when that happens to me I have been "Over Served"

Wow,

I'll give that points for gutsy..........yikes....

Brendan-

What's wrong with ramps? That looks like a disaster waiting to happen. You're applying a ~4000 ft-lb. torque to the attachment point of that hoist. I'm not sure that I'd get in the habit of loading tractors like that if I were you.

CHRIS- thanks for the e-mail and reply! my disks are in good shape. that was helpful to know what i'am working with. i will soon be visiting your parts dept. for other various parts. that dinkie little truck looks like it may tip over....like the flintstones! that tractor is no joke....o-well.

i broke the key off in the 102 does anyone know if they are all keyed alike or do i have to buy a new switch? thanks in advance

Lucas H: They are all keyed like on all narrow frames. Pick out the old piece of the key from the ignition switch and contact any of the parts sponsors at the top of the page. They can fix you up with a new key quickly...

HeHeHe...every other tractor I've loaded I never had a problem. They would squat the truck some but not too bad. I've been needing to build a real attaching plate built into the frame, right now it's bolted to the bed over the frame mount. That 1450 weighs a little more than a narrow frame. Ramps are good for running Cubs or for people without back problems. I do have a winch I could mount to the front of the box for dragging Cubs up ramps if I can find a clean way to get the crank outside the box, it's just a boat winch. It does look real tipsy but it would have been alright had the hoist not pull over to the side. I got the idea from all the service trucks with cranes on them.....except they have them mounted correctly.

Richard Goyette, Welcome to the forum, I am also in Massachusetts! Over by Cape Cod. Since you have a narrow frame tractor I believe either a q-42 or qa-42 will work best. I also think a cw-36 will fit. If I'm wrong someone will jump all over me for it! LOL.. If you'll do a search for any of those ID's you'll run across a bunch of inf that'll help.

Also, watch the classifieds here or the "other" auction site(s) and you'll find what you seek.

TODD Markle - I could be wrong, I haven't kept up with what all the owner of Titan Wheel has done for the last 30 yrs....I actually met Him once when I worked at FARMALL, Maurey ????? is His name...can't remember His last name (darned CRS!) But I think Titan bought Carlisle, and Armstrong, and Good Year, and Elec. Wheel, and a couple other small tire & rim/wheel manufacturers. If I remember correctly He got His start with Titan making stamped dual wheel centers for big tractor dual wheels for French & Hecht in Davenport, & F&H supplied Him flat base rims to make other sizes of duals. Now He owns the industry!

BRENDAN B. - I gotta agree with Steve & Matt. Gutsy! I don't even like to use ramps to load/unload CC's from pickup beds. I've had WAY too many close calls with ramps spitting out from under the wheels so I don't even use them anymore. I can rent a 12,000# cap. 16 ft trailer at My local Tru-Value hardware store for $50/day which can haul anything I own, they have TWO of them. That REALLY scares Me what would happen if a strap broke or all the bolts ripped thru the bed floor and that tractor fell from that height, it would probably bounce and be O-K, but what if it bounced sideways and landed on someone. OUCH!

I'm thinking spring... I know this has probably been discussed at length, what is the tiller main drive belt spec for my tractor? 129, std mule, std gear box. Is it A144? Past discussions in the vault and sponsors web pages are inconclusive. Thanks.

Brendan B. How about one of those jacks that you use to hold a trailer tongue when its disconnected? Maybe some square stock or piece of pipe fastened to the bumper on the same side as the lift with some type of fitting on the jack that makes it removable. This would give a more stable platform. Even with a better mounting base your trucks gonna lean. JMHO

Dennis, You don't have to worry about the safety part, I won't have anyone on the lift side of the truck when I do this. If something needs to be checked I do it myself. Being a wrecker operator, was anyhow, I did alot with rigging. The only straps I use on the lifted objects are in perfect condition, any that are questionable are set aside for other purposes. I really don't care for ramps either. I haven't had any spit out but did have them slide around and would never ride a tractor up them. I haven't seen it personally but seen it on you tube with a tractor falling off a ramp with rider on it. When I was younger I used to ride my race bike up a ramp into the truck only because I usually went to races by myself and after a 2 hour hare scramble I was too exhausted to do it any other way. And there's another point with ramps, ground to bed level is awfully high. Especially with 4X4s. I still may make a set of ramps to winch dead Cubs up as long as I can make the install look presentable and functional.

Allen, I have thought about that. I saw a trailer jack that had a foot on the bottom instead of a wheel. It also folded around when not in use. A friend on mine had some type of hoist that was built into the rear bumper on his service truck and it had a support that would drop to the ground. Was a poor design, the outrigger, when you loaded something with the hoist you couldn't pick the outrigger back up because it was pinned.

Brendan, if you look in Northern Tool web site under trailer jacks, you can find a bunch of items that may work for you if you decide to add an outer support assy.

BB- you are correct. makes the difference if your loading a dead cub cadet yourself. i like to use ramps myself,{not to go against the grain here} but when built correctly and saftey is taken to prevent the ramps from leaving the truck, your going to be in good shape. if possiable, i load on ground...not pavement, and use hills or grades to place ramps. a time or to i've pushed up a dead cub cadet on ramps. what about your tire bead giving out? well you must know what you are doing. still looks scary though!
