You trying to get the "Great OIl Debate" or Gear drive vs Hydro debate going again?

JIM P. - I would suspect a LOT of NF CC's have that frt axle mounting channel cracking along the welds. Good thing it's bolted into the engine.

Got a wheel weight question... My NF parts book lists wheel weights separately for first and second position, but the P/N is NLA for both. I suspect that there's no difference in the weights and the distinction was made because they were sold as kits with the correct bolt length for the location. Is that correct? Thanks, Jerry

JERRY - That is correct! And the bolts for different widths of rear tires are different length also.

Most cheap 1/2" carrage bolts which are plenty good for mounting weights are fully threaded. I normally start with 6" long bolts then cut them to the correct length. I've got three weights stuffed into the rear wheels of my 982 and I think the bolts are something like 10 in. long but don't quote Me on that! The inner-most set is non-IHC and sit inside the rim completely. I've got nuts & flatwashers inside the wheel to tighten them up to the normal "First Set" of weights, keeps them from flopping around.

Well, i still have not figured out whats up with my Cub 124. I figure the fuel bowl just needs the screen cleaned out. I dont believe its an ignition problem, but i'll find out soon enough if it does the shutting off thing after the bowl's been cleaned out. I dont know for sure. God knows it could just be low on fuel. Any tips or help with my 124 i appriciate it. Thanks.
