Roland,
The Cub Cadets with recoil start have grounded ignition switches.

Paul, isn't it just one of the two terminals that is grounded on the recoil start Cub Cadets, not a "special" ground terminal? I believe this is what Roland was stating.

I love my bike! 05 KX250f parts still arnt cheep but neither are cub parts.... its an expensive hobby!

Don T...
What you need to build is a V-Twin Cub....
buttrock.gif

Tim Allen built one in the first episode on home Improvement, albiet not a cub...

What burns my cheese is that HD riders can drive all day anywhere making noise, but as soon as the muffler develops a hole on a car, the cops are right there with a ticket... In NY it is illegal to modify in ANY way an exhaust system on any vehicle, period... Grrr.

(off of soapbox)

I am trying to make a homemade set of dual wheel spacers, does anyone have a recomended space between the two tires? This is more for show than anything else because they look COOL

I`am up to no good here, my 61 O is now all apart. let the fun start now. Later Don T

If you tire size is 23x10.5-12, then a 11" spacer - outside of flange to outside of flange.

If you tire size is 23x8.5-12, then a 9" spacer - outside of flange to outside of flange.

If you tire size is 6-12, a 7" spacer - outside of flange to outside of flange.

If you tire size is 26x12-12, then a 12 1/2" spacer - outside of flange to outside of flange.

MATT - I agree with you about EVERYTHING being expensive now.

SCOTT - Maybe if We ask KRAIG real nicely He'll post a pic of "MIEN KUB" that Tom Hoffman built. Maybe DON could take a few hints. I saw Tom on it @ RPRU in Penfield back in '03. He's sold it now, maybe He can say who has it now. It was SHARP!

Oh, and the best thing I saw on Tool Time was the gas-powered Blender, "You can puree a BRICK with this thing!" SON & I were running that exact same engine & tuned pipe on out 1/10th scale R/C truck at that time. Still got a couple .12 cid engines out in the shop yet. One's a brand new OS CV-R with a fresh sleeve & piston. Cut crankshaft to fit an Assoc. RC-10GT.

Friend built a gas powered blender(weed eater motor) for making margaritas. He works for Hoover and got all kinds of neat trinkets to make it from.

That's one Bad mofo cub Kraig! I love it.

Loud pipes?? Ya, even my 1100 Honda has loud pipes to let the mindless steeringwheelholders know I'm around. Still working on getting a HD, but just can't swing it right now(even used).

thanks charlie, that was the exact info that i needed. Here is a photo of my hub template, Yes there is a extra hole in it. This was the only 3/8 flat i had and somehow didnt place it wisely

A couple of different places sell repower kits to put B&S Vanguard V twins in small tractors, including Cubs..

Where we are right now, loud pipes are considered mandatory safety equipment on bikes, to keep the blue haired cage drivers aware that you're there..

Don, send me an email with your mailing address, I think I still have a spare fender support rod for Originals buried in my shed somewhere, if I can find it it's your's. Yeah I know you're north of the border but I'll gift it to you so there's no cost. Probably cost me a few $$$ in postage but oh well. A few years back a group of really nice guys gifted me an entire Original complete with fenders, lights and a BB36 snowthrower and one guy sold me a complete mower deck and non-trip blade at such a low ball price that he basically gave it to me soooooo I'll just pay that forward. I'll try to find it tonight or this weekend. Hopefully I didn't give it away to someone else.

JEFF B. - Those "Extra Holes" are called CONSTRUCTION HOLES. I've done a few fabrication jobs where they're required. Also real common on heavily machined parts.

LARRY K. - I actually think a weed-eater engine would work better on a blender, much more torque, but Tim Taylor was probably swayed by the 28,000 RPM engine He used. SON raced a Mugen 1/8th scale 4WD buggy for a while that had an OS RZ-B .21 cid engine, 2-stroke of course, idled @ 3000-4000 RPM, max. of 38,000 RPM, made an estimated 2.5 HP. But the car weighed about eight pounds, three Torsen diffs, dual disc brakes, would only run 45-50 MPH actual speed.

DON - If I remember correctly, TOM put a 20+ HP B&S in that Cub. He stepped up the pulley ratio between the engine & drive shaft a bit. With those big rear tires it scooted down the road pretty good! I remember him running down the pulling track at the Penfield show grounds to go watch people plow. He had the dust flying! Sounded like a H-D too! A LOT of nice work done on that tractor!

Thanks for posting the pic's KRAIG!

Kraig
thanks a bunch and I will settle up for the postage for shure.

There are some great people that frequant this site as a Cub care package arrived here from Maine today. Thanks Frank C for the things that you sent. the reamer will come in handy for sure as Kevin needs his 104 steering fixed.
You guys are great guys and a pleasue to know. I do hope one day to make a trip and meet some of the people who post here. Thanks again.humbled Don T

OK, Don T., I've got some 'splaining to do:
The seat welting is for if you want to make anti-rubbing points, like on a hood. That stuff in just about indestructable.
When I uncoiled the throttle/choke cables to send you half of what had been given to me it got away from me and turned into quite a circus. Can you say monkey and football? Don't uncoil much more that you need at one time!
The NF steering spindle is the one I couldn't drill out to 11/32" to run the reamer through.
The rectangular hour meter is AC.
The Cub Cadet cup I couldn't get used to. My nose would plug the little vent hole when I tried to drink out of it!!!

2 weeks from here to there. Right on schedule.
