Hi guys. Where can I get 50w Halogens for my 128. I know cubfaq has a pair listed but I believe that model is not existent anymore?

Does anyone know where I can find o rings for the hydraulic valve body spool? It's for a 149. I have looked and not found them anywhere.

Any and all would be great.....Wayne

Just take your parts with you to a seal and packing seller. I have done this to get O rings in the past as we have a place near here.I found rear seals for my O there also. should be an easy find really. later Don T

hay Charlie would that be you that made the one pictured? i see new they are over 200 so thought it would sound like a good project. Still would like to hear more on the winter cub get togather in GR

I want to buy my second Cub and use it for mowing my 1.25 acre yard. My front yard is a steep enough to need weights and some tread on the tire. What should I be looking for? My only base of knowledge is my 100.

Brian Moir:

for a good mowing tractor, i would recamend a 128/129 or any of the other wideframes for that matter. I use a model 128, it is very stable. if traction is a problem, you could use a mild ag tread, something around an 23-8.50-12 size. my yard is a bit uneven and the ags helped out a lot. the wide frames seem a considerable bit heavier, weights arnt really needed unless you are doing major work with it.

Thanks for the information. I have ags on my 100 and they aren't too bad on the lawn/weeds.

How would a 122 partially restored compare to a 129? The deck is what is partially restored and is located in CT. I would have to search for a wide frame. Any recommendations for my second Cub Cadet?
I like the looks of the 122, know it has the 12hp kohler, similar deck setup to my 100 but is there anything inherently wrong with the narrow frame mower deck setup?

Brian M.
It wouldn't.
The only similarity between the 2 is, they are both Cub Cadets, have 12 H.P. Kohler engines and 4 rubber tires and are yeller & white.

Sorry Charlie, not typing clearly. I know the 122 is a narrow frame and would compare to my 100 but as far as a "lawn mower" is concerned, the wide frame is the preference for what reasons?

Brian M, You mentioned a large lot and your profile says CT. If you have a lot of trees a hydro might be nice to have. Mabey a bigger deck but thats a trade off if the trees are close.
No theres nothing wrong with narrow frames, I'd have to vote for one with QT it sure makes changing attachments go better.

Brian M.
Wide frame, Narrow frame.
It's all personal preference to pretty much everyone.
If ya see it, and you like it. Buy it!
If it sets good and do what you want it to do when you get it home, Buy it.

Kinda like the ole saying,
If it feels good, DO IT!

There's no one that can tell your with 100% certainty which will be best for you.
Kinda like all that what's it worth crap that flies around once and a while.

All my trees are in the state forest that butts up against my lot. I do not have any trees in my mowing area. I have looked at a 1250, 782 w/ 48 decks. I really was looking for a reason to buy my next Cub and not put a deck on my 100. Or buy another 100 w/ a deck. I am not really looking for the quickest way to mow the lawn if you understand. Just a reliable machine to mow with and if that is a properly setup narrow frame, so be it. If that is a wide frame because of the deck mount and deck options, even better. I am just not informed enough to know better. Which is why the boards input is greatly appreciated.

First time on. Been tinkering the last week or so. Got my 70 and 124 back running great. Running into some snags on my 149 though. Has anyone had any good or bad luck trying to re-tap the threads in the rearend to a 7/16" when the top bolts holding the fenders up are stripped. Last guy that had this thing never checked anything. I've been working on this thing for 3 days. I can't seem to get the carb to stop running over either. I re-built it twice and still comes gurgling out. I think it might have a crack in the casting. Thats the only thing I can figure. I stuck the one I rebuilt for my 127 and it seems to work fine. I will say though that it looks like the inner bore of the carb off the 12hse is a little bit smaller than the one for the 14hse. Any thoughts?
