Ya know sometimes Cub Cadet comes through with an improvement that makes sense.
Heavier steel, welded edges instead of crimped and built like a tank!
The NEW and IMPROVED muffler for the Quietlines is quite impressive IMHO.
It's smaller in diameter but it's supposed to be 35% quieter.

Chris N, I didnt know you were Nic's boss. he had mentioned something about you having bought a Cub but I didnt think that much about it.

Ok you guys, I need to check or adjust my voltage regulator. I looked in the achives and found little. I also have the link to the regulator check, but it doesnt have numbers.Electrical problems are not my best thing to do. Air gap check. Is there a certain setting gap it is supposed to be?Like a spark plug gap? I cant find it anywhere. And I guess you have to have the engine running and a volt meter to check everything else? Im not good at this sorta thing, so, Could you walk me throgh this process? I know kraig has good diagrams of this stuff. Where do I connect the leads to check it? Im lost when it comes to electrical troubleshooting...

KRAIG - That GIF just wouldn't look correct with Your Original. You could create that but I'd leave the one with the 125 because it's the Best looking Cub Cadet ever.....and the fact IH used that front grill design on more tractors than any other.

( Ahhhh That should stir Art up!)

Now look what you've done! ....Bender's upset again...

Has anyone ever converted a 44 inch mower deck to a mulching unit? If so, how did you go about doing so?

Denny, oh I wouldn't be making an Original based animated gif, I'd just put up a plain old photo of my Original, like this one perhaps.

Tim:
Check your email - if Yahoo didn't reject it, I sent you a PDF on regulator adjustment that I found on a non Cub forum...

wish me luck lol

Don:
Looks like they must have actually bought a Moto Tool and torn it apart...

Don, thanks! After each use the plow share gets painted with graphite paint, it prevents rust and is nice and slippery for the next plow event.

Kraig...do you know what the max size a gif can be for a profile pic ? I have tried to load the small FrankenCub gif I showed you but it apparently is too big..

i liking this! i stoped back down the ford dealer because they said they needed a new SG... they got another off a friend but he still need it, so i told them my neighbor does SG and stuff so he will rebuild it for them, they said that they will pay me and my neighbor! hope i can fix the thing first... gotta do a bench test, they said it wont even turn over
construction.gif

the guy working on it also said he wanted another steering box because their's had too much play... there was less play in there steering than any cub ive ever used!!!! new ball joints and the spindle fix and there probably wouldnt be any!

lol they also said something about selling it again.... so made it overly clear once more that i was first to call!

Good afternoon everyone. Well I never did do a follow up
on what I did to keep my cubbie running.
I went out the following day to tackle some more
snow and she fired up and ran as if nothing was wrong.
All I can figure is all the snow on the coil must have effected the spark.
Kept it clear of snow and no problems.
Our total snow was 20.3 inches which cubbie went through with minimal issues.
Dang belt is slipping and my spare is glazed over just as bad, another one on its way.
Later all and thanks for all the help.

I am going to buy a new coil, But before installing it what can cause them to go bad?? I dont want to eat one up if its a problem that i need to fix first.

Jeff:
As far as I can tell, age, heat and vibration..One issue can be if the key is left on with the points closed, it will not only burn the points up, but can get the coil pretty hot. Unless you have a newer engine, the coil could have been 30-40 years old..
Maybe somebody took the balance gears out also
