Came with a nice mower deck ,with the baffles still in place.I got it running today.Just soaked the fuel sediment bowl, carb, and put a rebuild kit in it.Runs and drives nice like my other 125's

Uhhhhh....Charlie keeps asking people to put a return before each picture so that they are on the left side of the page.. Here's an example of what your message should look like:

If you forget to do this, you've only got a limited amount of time to edit your posting.. (and yes, I know that would have been the same picture three times.

Thanks Justin. We no longer have a Wards near us but I just emailed them to see if they are still available. There a little different than most I've seen.

Ryan,

I'm not sure I'll catch up on everything this year.

I haven't really made firm plans about installing the baffles, I just know the ones on the decks now are either mostly gone or in pretty sad shape. I'm also going to have to go on a scrounging mission to find material of the appropriate gauge and width, as to minimize the amount of cutting I will need to do. I'll probably do the 129 first, since it is my workhorse, and its currently down for engine repairs and a lift upgrade. I'll see how it goes with that deck before tackling the others.

It does sound like a good idea to bring the baffles in a little closer to the blades, the downside of it is that smaller pieces of brush, twigs, and so on can get lodged into the gap, tearing up the baffle and necessitating crawling underneath to clear the jam. I'll probably split the difference on the distance and width of the baffles.

BTW, the 102 deck is a 42 inch with cast ends, the 125 deck is a 42 inch deck with sheet metal ends and QA mounts, and the 129 deck is a 48 inch deck similar to the 125 deck.

Kendell - Nice tutorial on posting pics. Visual examples usually work best to help people understand directions. I hope that's the case here. It's great to see all the pictures, but a real bummer when they spread out beyond the limits of the screen. Thanks for taking the time to do a nice visual aid.

well i must be on a roll this week! drove an hour and a half one way, to get this... i showed up and the first thing i saw was the rear end,
168903.jpg

as soon as i saw the gear box i asked him if he had the tiller to go on it, he said he forgot all about it, said its been sitting in the garage for years, i ended up giving him 50 for the tractor and 50 for the tiller... he drove a tough bargain!
he went up to his garage to get it while me and my neighbor loaded the truck, a few minutes later he said to me oh look hes pulling it with his blazer! he hocked a chain to it and towed the thing down, i cant believe it didn't tip over but i got it and its in great shape!

the motor is blown, but i think im gonna fix it up, and use it, i think its a 48inch deck in savable condition the lift is whats got me hooked on it!

Lewis Palma,
Beautiful Cub Cadets! Personally I could not afford the seats for that many (having a problem with 4).

They are quite the crew. I hope to have mine like that before I die.

Good man.

Lewis Palma (Lpalma) Nice looking tractors you have there. I was looking at the 2nd from the left and was thinking Wheel horse? toro? Can you tell me what it is.
I painted the rims on the weekend for the 129 loader and will install the dash tower today. I`am moving along at a snails pace lol, but i`ll make the finish some day. later Don T

Matt,
From what I can tell it looks like a 149 from the color of the hood stripe. Nice find on both the tractor and the tiller, it looks like it will clean up well, and with a little paint, look pretty nice.

Keep us up on what you find out about the motor, hopefully and especially if it is a K321, its rebuildable.

BRUCE N. - re Baffles under the mower deck. Don't be afraid of getting the baffles right out there about 1/8 inch away from the blade tips.
I made mine from some 1/8" thk x 2" steel and I've only had one small ding in them after 20+ years of mowing.

The OEM baffles were made from thinner material and that's why they rust away and get bent up.

It is a B80, 4 speed.I bought this from the original owner, and is in great shape.I was working on the mower deck I got with the 125 yesterday,It has new blades on it but no deck wheels, looks like it was only used a few times...

Well guys i`am held up because of the small roll pin in the dash tower, but i did put some of the painted parts back on the 129 today. its hard to do without scratches

. but i did get the Cub closer to a finished loader Cub. later Don T

Man down, Man down, I was mowing along and boom, The deck still turns but makes a racket like it's hitting something but theres nothing there. The real pain in the butt is I sold two decks a week ago thursday, thats how life goes.

Dave, make sure that the blade baffles are intact. Could be that one came loose and is hitting on a blade tip.

Following up on my 129 engine problems from a couple of weeks ago...

I went to my local Cub Cadet dealer (luckily he's only 2 miles away) and got a new head gasket, breaker points, and condenser. After I got back, I lightly lapped the valves and put the engine back together, but it will stay on the stand until I'm done adding the hydraulic lift.

Did I mention breaker points? It looks like the plastic melted and the pushrod stuck to them. Anybody out there see anything similar to this?

Anyone know where to get the front tires from an original cadet? I want to get something very similar to the goodyears that came with it. thanks

Kraig thanks for the heads up but I pulled what was left of those a long time ago. where I use to mow it's more of a weed mower than grass. Use to have the stalk of horse weeds acually stop the blade between the baffle and blade. I know, I live in town now I oughta fix that.
