The internal resistance is different. Do a search of the vault, and you will find much on the topic, including this diagram..

Scott T, i think when ever you take something apart and don`t break some thing your good,Found the 147 rear rim was drilled lager where the valve sits. now i will have to buy a tube and install the new tires. later Don T
 
If the timing is off on my 1450, would it be noticed more when the motor is cold, or when it's at operating temperature?
The motor wants to stumble while running. Just today it will quit after a couple minutes of run time, but then start right back up.
For those who dont read the other forum, I have installed a Points Saver with Coil, MMO has been run through a tank of gas, & the carb re-built by Charlie. Even with that, I still have the exact same issue. Thanks
 
Don T valve stems are avail. in different sizes. stop by a local tire store. Ray
 
Hi, need some help please.
I have a 1450 that i rescued from the salvage man and it has a frozen hyd spool valve. Is there any way to free this up. Thanks
 
Good evening all, from Florida. I've been reading the forum daily and saving everything I think I'll need to get my 127 working like a true cub should. I'm here to report that FAQ 13 works for even a tool and talent limited soul like me. Steering wheel is off with two whacks. Next how to get the speed control lever off. I just saw Scott T s post on the subject. Will do that if I must. I've searched (with no success so far) for the recent post about getting that lever off.

Changing the subject. Charlie is there a way to know how many forum members are in Florida? And finally if any of you cold country guys want a reason to come to Florida in late February the Florida Flywheelers annual antiques engine and tractor show will be 2-25 to 28 2009 featuring garden tractors.
 
Ok really new to this forum thig but here it goes. i have a 64 100 it has not got the headlights where all pics show them there is a plate there the lights are monted on the sides like a tractor would this be by design or someone's aftermarket desires. thanks
 
Jeff Pierson (Jpierson) well now it could be as simple as the gas cap!(plugged no air in the tank )exhaust valve sticking?Coil bad ?a gas engine is Fuel, spark, air- thats it

Phillip, My father had a 1965 Model 100 he bought used in 67 from the local IH dealer and it had headlights mounted on the sides of the grill that were actually headlights from a Original. I think when the tractor was new the owner asked the dealer to install headlights as it did not have them, So they used a lighting kit for a Original as everything was very factory looking and it had a Grote tailight. Until I came here and saw other 100s I thought those were the correct lights. I thought it looked pretty good that way and even considered putting those lights on my 100 just for old times sake.

Well if the "Corrct Police" don't "pinch" you, I'd go for it. If it bring back fond memories of Dad, screw the "correctness"! Do you have any pictures of the Ol' 100 with those light on it?
 
Tom Shure do, just don't have any way right now to scan them. My dad had that tractor for ten years, I grew up on it and it was amazing what it would do. He traded it in 1977 for a new 1650. I think it may still be around somewhere. Shure would like to find it.
 
Jeff Pierson, You added a point saver and coil.Make sure you have your point wire and power wire on the correct post of the coil. I had a 1650 do the thing and found the wires to be on the incorrect post.
 
Greetings from a first timer on here. I have a '73 129, that was inherited from a deceased member of my wifes family, that I regretfully neglected for the past dozen years. Not realizing the value of these as a way that solid yard tractors used to be built, I would know like to get it in goor enough shape where it might have value to someone else. It ran up until about 3 years ago, when constant outside storage basically deteriorated and rotted the wiring. My question is, how much should I expect to have to pay to get it rewired, and is it much of a project? The wiring in the battery compartment is shot, and I don't really know what it is like in the engine compartment without starting to pull it out up to there. Any help or suggestions on what I am getting in to?
