Kraig: Whadda ya mean you might not get to RPR?? Isn't RPR in Mad City, Wisconsin this year?? According to your profile you are in Wisconsin also...Down here where I am, we drive further than that for coffee & donuts...Geeeesh...The county I live in is probably as big as Wisconsin. This isn't a put-down of the Great State of Wisconsin (where else would I get my cheese ??)...just comparing size & distance perspectives....Ain't no way you can't get there..

PAUL: Well I could sure use a tractor/loader around here so I'll look ya up!
MYRON: Don't worry, this event requires a lot of picures and where ever there is a camera you are likely to find Kraig.

My Brother from North Dakota (has an IH O4) is comeing with me...I am looking forward to all the restored CCs and "builds" like Dan Hoefler's
crawler and hopelly Gary Taylor's mini 1 millionth 1066. and more and more!!!
Then, if I am really lucky, I might get to me some you guys that post here!! how COOL will that be!!!!

Does anybody have an answer to my previous question, I'm kind of in a pinch!!!

MYRON - Be nice to Kraig or We won't let You inside the "Cheddar Curtain"!

Of anybody on this forum I probably live closer to the site of the RPRU than anybody and I'm not even sure I'm going. As Mom told Me thousands of times when I was young, "We'll See, Maybe something else will come up You'll want to do."

And I know none of My Cubbies will be there. If ANYTHING goes to RPRU it'll be the two FARMALL's, according to mapquest it's less than 14 miles to the Alliant Energy Center. And if I run them there on the city streets I bet I get a "Police Escort" too.
Supposed to be a "Tractor Cruise" Friday afternoon up around the Capital Building across the Ismus, I have NO idea how Guy Fay managed to arrange a tractor cruise of 15 mph antique tractors across some of the busiest streets in Madison during PM Rush Hour on a Friday, One of the most TOTALLY screwed up downtown areas of ANY city I know. I'd rather drive an 18-wheeler in downtown Chicago than drive my little car in downtown Madison. But something about a Hot Lap around the Capital bldg. on a Great Old FARMALL with Police Protection sounds interesting!

I've got my reservations made for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night at the Best Western!! I think Friday is going to be the BIG day.

Dan W. Try asking ur question in 'Sandbox' area. That gets read more than here. I'm not sure how many hydraulic experts we got here, but there a few guys who are familiar with that stuff.

Art A: Great..Hope to see you both there...The good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise between here and Mad City in July...

Myron

Well shoot, if Myron is gonna be there I guess I have to go! I better get it penciled in on my calendar.... I better get to work on K4K too.

I'll be there on Saturday. I think Mike M. is going too. We have are fest that weekend, I can only get Saturday off.

I am trying to change the brake disc on my 104. This is as far as I have gotten. The manual says that the brake disk will slide off without taking the retainer loose. I don't see how it will come off without taking the retainer off. Anyone know what to do next. Photo attached to show where I am.
Thanks Mike H.

Since we are moving this week, and the tractor is going over to a storage facility for a little while, I thought I would let you see the progress made.

Power steering column shortened and mounted. Air intake 99% done, just need to fix a couple pin holes in a reducer I made. Coolant hoses all done. Gauges all installed (water temp, boost, pyrometer, oil pressure). Drivetrain on the way, need to figure out a hyd pump and valve for the PS & 3pt cyl, and finish all the wiring and fuel routing.

I finally got back to work on my Teledyne powered "O", and drove it today for the first time. It still needs some sheet metal panels made, a steel gas line to replace the temp line, and some brackets made and then play with it some to insure everything is going to work as assembled, and then blow it apart to paint it. Ist and 2nd gear is about the same as stock, but with more engine noise for about the same RPM, but in 3rd gear, lets just say it's faster than a hydro......

Just thinking out loud, can a person take a ported hydro pump and put it behind the engine (move the clutch to in front of the transmission) in a gear drive to gain live hydraulics. Then mount a lever to the swash plate to power what could be live PTO. How much torque will that top shaft on the hydro pump take?

I suppose anything is possible, but one, there isn't room for that in there, and two, I'm not sure how you'll deal with the fact that the fluid return is through the bearing on the output shaft. Not sure what you'd need a clutch for if you have a hydro in front of the gear drive trans, either...

Looking good! I don't see a battery anywhere, how do you start it?
