Kendell, "Didn't use a 125 for that..." all the more reason to modify that non- 125 Cub.

Scott:
Didn't hurt my feelings - I'm not a vendor here and haven't had to spend a lot of bucks on my 129 in the last 25 or so years, but let me make it clear - if I looked in a friend's showroom, then found what I wanted elsewhere for less money, I don't think I'd go back to the friend's place and announce for one and all to hear that his prices could be beat on some item...what's the point????

Let's drop it - you have your ways, I've got mine and Charlie is just waitin' to put the hammer down on this thread..

Kraiq:
I think you missed the point - the similarity between two of the best looking models IHC ever built...the 1x8-9's and that 1066

Kendall, point well taken and I meant no offense to anyone. I certainly dont want to anger the same folks who can help me out. After given enough time to think about it, I should have just let you all have your say and kept my mouth shut. So again I will apologize to all involved.

Man...leave for a few hours and look what I miss..hehehe

On a real sad point...I mean to the point of depression...we have a huge ag auction starting today. A ton of GT's and from what I could see from the road a lot of Cubs, to make things worse...it looks like there is attachments up the ying yang.....all when I am friggen broke

Brendan: Send e-mails to those Nigerian Princes that keeps sending you all that spam and tell 'em what a great deal you've got for them......they just need to forward some of that large inheritance they're telling you about to get things started..

The 129 was on logging duty again today -we've got elms that grow along the edge of our property - they get to about 6-8 inch diameter trunks, 40 -60 feet high and die. Naturally they all want to fall INTO the county drain. 129 just hunkers down a little and drag's 'em out - naturally, camera is in the house.

Brendan and Craig, (and ArT!!)

Thanks for the direction on my draining batterys. I should have mentioned, two of the machines have new batterys in the last month and one of them is an Interstate.
I think I'll start by using that multi-finger poker to start checking for the culprit like Brenden said.

Sounds like we need a multi-meter thread!!

Allways mesure the ram (first) . walked it up good till it spun side ways . lol what fun. later Don T

Hi guys! Got it to mow last night, but after a couple of passes over the yard, it started slipping pretty bad in 3rd, then 2nd. It's slotting into gear very nicely, just not going anywhere once it is in gear. If I hop off it will go once my weight is off of it. Is this something that could be just the belt from the engine to the drive shaft slipping, or am I looking at pulling the clutch apart?

Ahh...Howard...what model is it ? Belt to the engine ?? Must be an Original ?? Or a lawn mower ?
If it's an O it could be your clutch disk or clutch pressure spring is broken ??

KENDELL - Actually, The BEST ever looking IHC tractor was the 5X88's and their Look-alike Cub Cadet the 982. Not My opinion although I DO Agree but actually from the RPM forum.

Ahhhh. Someday I'd like to get a 3088 or 3288, Always had a "Thing" about those Nuess 358 diesels. The "Small Block Chevy" of smaller displacement diesel engines!"

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'll try'um out and let ya know.

BTW, It's freakin snowing to beat the band AGAIN!

We just got rid of that white crap and here it comes again.

Hi Guys, I picked up a 50 inch A deck for my 149 to replace my 44 broken deck. I am trying to get it on the tractor however the front oblong shaped eyes things seem to be about 1/4 a inch too wide. Any suggestions ? I should say about 1/4 inch more a part from each other.
I get 1 eye thing on the undercarriage hooks and the other is like rubbing on the carriage but is over about a 1/4 a inch over to much to slide on :-( help please .

Any suggestions} ?

Charlie, even though I have one more day before it rains again I guess I won't complain knowin you got snow.

One more thing Charlie. I guess I got to go get a bottle of hooch. I see you sold the 102.

one other question. Sorry i am a pain this is not ever a cub questions...
I Picked up a sears craftsman with an 18 hp Kohler command motor a few weeks ago at an auction. The motor runs great however when I turn the deck on I hear it squeaking from the front spindle that connects under the motor. Do I need to grease it or replace something. The deck will work however it is straining and squeaking in higher grass. Any suggestions this is the backup to the 149 that I can not get the deck on what fun!!

So I dug out the extra pto. I noticed that the spring do-hickey-thing in the middle on the thrust botton isnt where it normally would be. Is that okay to use that way? Or should I readjust that one too? I would love to have posted a pic but ended up just working on the 104. I didnt think that there were that many pieces to paint when I started the whole project, now I am realizing that the pieces must be appearing from out of nowhere, or that I have too many fumes staying in the garage with the doors open and I'm becoming delusional. I think someone is sneaking more parts in there while I'm at work!

So far I have the the rear on the frame and the steering column, dash tower, front axle, and the seat pedestal together in one piece. I started working on the frenders this evening while my wife and daughter where away for a few hours. It always amazes me how much I get done without the "hey daddy" questions and the "you have worked on that tractor enough this week" statements from my wife!! Any way I will be able to get back to some serious work on Monday when it will be 80 here in WNY. Kid at school, wife at work, day off for me!

Richard P.
Nope, Just decided I would use it myself for a while.
It's a neat little tractor and fun as all get out to run.
It's one of those that just feel good when you fire it up.
