80* yesterday sure made a nice day to get the mowing tractor ready for spring. I took the deck off, cleaned up the bottom, touched up the blades, and put the back on. I then flipped it over, took top cover off and cleaned it up good. I gave everything a good grease job and gave the 109(129) a needed bath. I put the deck back on, adjusted the belt, and got a couple pictures. Here she is almost ready to go. I still need to check the levelness of the deck.

Kendell Ide, OK - talked me into it, I'm gonna go look for a NF.

Thank me latter.. make sure the shifter is between your legs.

Charlie "Digger", glad you got your tractor going, sounded like your day was abou like mine. Down here in Ar. about the only kinds of gas we can get here is that d%#^+ 85 ethanol or 93 octane, my 1250 dont seem thrifty enough on the 85 junk and sounds kinda like a labor knock on the 93 octane. What do you think about a lead substitute, or is the MMO sufficent? My engine is gona have to have an overhaul one of these days, but I dont want to do it bodily harm by being neglegent. 81 degrees and windy enough to blow what little hair I have left off. AFRAID to get out around the place and work today, we have way to many dead huge limbs left in the trees from the ice storm. No house husband chores today so I will pet the CC awhile, she earned it yesterday. Later!!

Ya, I second the ouch on the Rattlin' Tin comment!! I guess I'd rather listen to my rattlin' tin than spend the day replacing ISO mounts!!!

BTW Those Sims products (Limb Savers) vibration products for Hunting bows work wonders on Cubs too.

Lisa On your 50A mower deck measure the distance of the center to center of the clevises and it should be 8 3/4 inch. If they are not check to see if the bracket they are mounted on is bent.

If the clevises distance is correct check your lift arms and they should also be 8 3/4 inch center to center. If this distance is incorrect you will need to bend them to the correct measurement. When you are looking down on them from the top and back the one on your right should be straight along the outside bracket. There is a bend in the outside bracket on the left but you can see how they should align.

KENDELL, TOM H. - I mowed with the 982 for the First Time ever without the side panels in place last Saturday, NEVER again, engine gets WAY too dusty. And the reason for the side panels IH called "Forward Airflow Cooling", Those 5X88 series are still one of the BEST tractors for doing fall tillage where lots of debris can get stirred up and plug up grills. Their grill is on top of the hood in plain sight for the operator, cleaner air and easy to keep clean. About the time IH was putting the finishing touches on those tractors the new big green/yellow articulated 4X4's were burning to the ground with debris blowing back into corners of the open engine compartments and getting onto the exh. manifolds and catching the tractor on fire. Only thing IH did wrong was they should have used elec. fans instead of driving them with a long shaft off the waterpump.

And KENDELL - Just like Tom's cute little 234 with the 5X88-series styling, "It's an IHC Thing, Don't ask....You wouldn't understand!" to borrow a phrase from My Buddy with Jeeps!

Ok here is a pic of the spare pto I have. I brought it to work with me to help pass the time this afternoon. The maintenance guys are letting me use the shop and none of the big-wigs are here to say anything!

Uh...Scott...Those big wigs are home reading the Forum.
