Jerry, yep that's a weak point on the Originals. Here's a fix that Mike Masheris came up with. It doesn't show up much in these photos but Mike also added a piece to the outside of the upper flange, basically doubling it's thickness. I might have a photo of my frame that shows it.

Here's a photo of my frame with the repairs that Mike came up with. You can see the doubled flange in the mounting hole. The extra piece is actually on the bottom side in this view.

I have a question about the 935 white paint. Dupont's code 59664 comes back with a "Gray" description. Is this possible that it is so off-white that they call it gray? I even called 2 different places and they said the same thing. This is for a 149.

Jerry B,
I'm pretty sure you'll be "happy" without the rust and oil... Good to hear your cleaning it up.

Well got the bracket mounted up and the weights stripped for painting. What do ya think so far? Didn't want to get too fancy with the paint, would like to do the whole tractor at once and do some repair on my crap weld job. I got a pretty sloppy when I was trying to get the first side together.

how interchangable are the parts and pieces between a 129 and a 1250? (deck, engine, etc.)

could someone please tell me how to identify the lp head without taking it off the engine i have an old 10hp and would like to know if it has the good head or not, jared

Can a person use an overhead hoist and set a 100 on its rear end to work on a creeper? (Changing leaking creeper gasket). I've never "split" one before!!

I have the manuals..

maby im looking in the wrog place i dont see it there oh well dont worry about it im sure its not other wise i wouldnt have it someone would have taken it off some time ago, jared

Jared C,
If you don't want to pull the head off to check you could pull the motor and remove the oil pan, bearing plate, crank, rod and piston and shine a light up into the head area and probably tell if it's a LP head, but it would most likely be easier to just pull the head off to check.

Why do you want to know what head it's got? Are you just curious or have a plan if it does or doesn't have one?

Mark Gerecke- Thanks for the line up on the baffle repair- it sounds like a good procedure to me! If im lucky, maybe I can get some grass to shoot out of the side discharge chute when i'm finished!

Craig, here's a couple of photos from the archives for you.
